Why?

Its the same sort of situation, doing something stupid/something you regret, and then claiming you were too drunk to consent/wasn't fully aware of what is happening/what happened..

Happened to a mate of mine, even though it was proved she made the whole thing up, but hes still felt a knock on, same situation for the tattoist, when he gets found innocent, his reputation would still be affected/tarred.

I just don't think you can compare something like this to a girl crying rape! The tattoo artist in this case will be cleared as the whole world realises the girl is lying and I think she will eventually realise how silly she is being and admit it.

As for someone crying rape, its an ENTIRELY different situation, in many cases it goes as far as the male standing up in court as an accused before the girl finally admits it. Some men will never lose that stigma.

No one will dispute that difference MBK.....but the simple comparison of girl being stupid and then laying blame on someone else is perfectly acceptable. I know what false allegations can mean for someone....NOT GOOD and mud sticks.........but it was just a simple example.

BUT! I understand the basics behind the comparison, ie girl doing something stupid and blaming it on someone else but I just don't think the girl crying rape comment was justified in this case.

Stupid teenage girl getting 56 stars on her face and saying that she only want 3 and making up a totally unbelievable story that she fell asleep = trivial IMHO.

Stupid teenage girl getting drunk, sleeping with a lad then crying rape = a HUGE life changing, horrible, horrible scenario.

I just don't think people should make comparisons about things on TOTALLY different scales! However, the word STUPID appears to have been taken out of context, I do not think for a minute sally is stupid.

AND, everytime someone makes a comment like such, they belittle every other female that has gotten drunk and has REALLY been raped. I am not saying that any members on this forum would for a minute be included in this but in the general public's eyes, it helps add an element of disbelief to any females story.

Rant over........for now!

I have to say I also don't agree with the comparison between tattooed stars and rape but I would say that having those stars on your face would be a 'huge life changing horrible horrible scenario'. :smt001

A girl who willingly and knowingly sleeps with someone and then cries rape, potentially landing the bloke in jail or at the very least wasting time and causing anguish to a lot of people, is quite different to a girl who got a ridiculous tattoo, then backtracked and pretended she didn't ask for it to be so big when she found out how stupid it looked and that no-one liked it. IMO.

Isn't there some law that it is possible to be too intoxicated to properly give consent?
