Well done BA, if he was over the limit and clearly not in control of his vehicle then you may have just saved his life - or an innocent passer-by's! Chances are if he got away with this one he may be tempted to drink drive again and getting caught might be what he needs.
On the 2 pint debate - (is that domestic or export strength), I think it can affect you judgement, be it impairing it or just that you'll take more risks thinking you are on top of your game. 2 quick pints will affect your reactions and confidence. It's not worth taking the chance and I wouldn't mind reducing the limit from 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood to around 50. This would allow you to ride home after work even if you have had the lunchtime pint or 2. It would be nice to have easy access to a a breath analyser though for reassurance. If you feel too rough you shouldn't drive/ride even if you are under the limit though.
