Personally i think the rozzer's comment smacks of a guy looking for a promotion. The general populous of that area probably aren't bike riders and probably would love for a guy to come in with his white horse and save them from the blight of noisy bikes and blood splattered grass verges.

..and all the bikers in question were english weren't they? - surely it would be far greater to just build a wall from Weston up to Merseyside and stop the plonkers coming over in the first place ;)

You either consider those that do over 100 are a liability and need banning, whereby you are passing judgement on their riding - or you concede that doing over 100 doesn't automatically make someone a liability and shouldn't necessarily result in a ban.

*sigh* Stop trying to tell me what my views are.

I have stated that thses speeds are too fast for NSL road IMO.
I have stated that the Police need to catch those doing these speeds IMO.
I have stated that they should be prosecuted, because a 'telling off' is not enough IMO
If prosecuted and convicted of doing such a speed, that will result in a ban. It is the law, not neccessarily what I want. I think that punishment should suit the crime and not all extreme speeding cases deserve a ban, while other cases of apparently not extreme speed would deserve a ban (again IMO).

In the main I support your premise that 'liability' drivers should be the ones banned, but I stand by the statements above.

IMO = In My Opinion - I'm allowed my own and it does not have to be the same as yours.

Wasn't my intention. I see what you're saying now.

 and then you'd prevent all those English people from helping you with all those jobs that don't involve sh*gging sheep, making fudge, singing in a choir, or playing rugby (as badly as us :-P) ;-)

** No offence intended to those beautiful Welsh people - ironically with whom I spent a decade working with (even if they hated me :smt050 LMAO) **

no, i'd be preserving the lives' of the beautiful few who come over to yonder and waste thy tragic life on a fruitless pursuit. It's all about the self preservation. Don't hear of a Welshman wrapping himself round an oak tree in Essex do you ?? :riding:

Re: Ban bikes from Welsh national parks?

There are only a few ways to enforce the ban.
  1. Stop and tow away all PTW's found in the area on the weekend. - Not practical, no added benefits.
  2. Have all PTW's in Wales display a EU style numberplate with CYM, Stop and tow away all outsiders - Not very practical, but at least we get our playground back.
  3. Close the borders. There are approximately 25 major routes into Wales as a whole. - Make each one of these a toll road and we can collect from everyone and stop the bikers.
:)
