Only five weeks on the SV, so no plans for replacing it yet.

Maybe in a year or so I'll add something comfy with luggage for longer rides, but at the moment one bike is enough.

Keith.

Mine was replaced out of necessity.

The SV was well and truely trashed and an offer was made that I couldn't refuse.

Now the proud owner of a 1993/94 Honda CB1000 (The Big One).

I'm slowly restoring it bit by bit to mint condition.

Re: Your SV successor?

I don't intend to ever get rid of my SV! Had a long hard think the other day about what I would replace it with down the line. Came to the conclusion that I don't want/need any other bike, I like my SV too much! Also considered the fact that I don't NEED to go any faster, or have any more power because, realistically, I won't use it.

For me personally (totally my own opinion of course!) I don't see the need for the 160 odd horses that come with a 1000, or the silly speeds they can do. For track days/racing, it makes perfect sense, but on the road where the speed limit is 70 (even if I do occasionally stray over that!) I just don't see the point.

I would never, ever tell one of my friends not to get a bigger bike if they wanted to because (completely contradicting myself) I can see the appeal of the 750's/1000's etc. Having all that power is alluring and knowing that it's there without having to always use is it empowering.

So for myself, I intend to make my SV the best bike it can be (M4 full system, v-stacks, bmc, remap and gsxr front end all planned!) because I like the fact that it does 0-60 incredibly quickly, can still do illegal speeds if you want it to and the fact that I always get excited when i'm about to hop on, whatever the weather :)

With a bigger more powerful bike, I'd be wary of my right wrist and would probably lose my license very quickly through lack of restraint!

Might be walking away with one too if i hear the right prices.

Drool. That's gorgeous. If I was replacing the Speed Triple with another street bike, I'd want one of those.
