If you saw a sign saying "Max speed 30mph" would you stick to it, or ask yourself if that is meant for a double decker bus with a top floor full of American tourists in the wet? Slip roads are like any other road and if the rider can't stop in the distance they can see to be clear then on their head be it.

If I don't know the roads then I do generally stick to the limit or advised max speed. I'm a bit of an old woman when it comes to this stuff though. There's an advisory 40 up near mine and when I first started riding I stuck to the 40 I now know I can take it about 55 on average but I probably would've killed myself if I had have tried previously.

Is your radiator ****ed?
shopping list to me looks like
new forks
upgraded springs
tapered bearings (while you're there)
New front wheel (I have a bandit 600 on mine)
2 line s/s brake lines
Whatever plastics/indi's you've broke
possibly radiator, mudguard, pegs and levers.....might be worth getting some bungs too
a new oil filter and give it a good service :D
Before getting the above check all over your frame for cracks especially round the welds.

Can you tell I've done this before? :P

Glad to hear you're doing alright mate, looks like a bit of a nasty off. Very interesting map from Googley, it's a very good challenging corner.... for a race track! It's a bit of a reminder for me too of the difference between bike and car, in the car you'd probably get away with standing on the brakes a bit and turning in, on a bike you're fooked! Fingers crossed you can get it repaired and make a speedy recovery.

No radiator is fine, oil filter is fine, the ony damage I can see at this moment in time, is the front exhaust pipe has split, the front forks, front indys, and front mudguard.

The pegs, the levers, front fairing are all in tack, just the usual go faster scratches which I'm not too fussed about right now.

Just trying to figure out how I get it from my driveway to garage at rear of house, as I don't want anyone helping thereselves to parts.

Ah sv radiators are made well you won't believe the shape of mine. A mechanic couldn't stop ****ing himself at it.

Yeah my downpipe got sheered too (see sig) can easily get it welded depending on the state

Best to inform your insurance as you may get a large bill from the highways agency for repairs to the barrier, like several grand.Your third party cover will pay for that.

Biker Biggles: I have informed the insurance of my accident and I am awaiting a call from Red Star Equity the broker firm of Bennetts to call me within the next 5 days so I've been told. So I'll mention that to them, once this somes through the letterbox.

dunno if your garage is up the side of your house to the back:confused: but if so maybe an old thick rug/carpet to slide bike onto, then several large mates (watch your neck:))to drag said rug/carpet to garage..?? just an idea..

glad you're ok and as i've been following this thread can see that you're now feeling more positive about repairing the bike which is great..:D:D
sounds like you'll be out and about in no time..it's raining this week anyway..;)
all the best to you anyways recovery wise..

Hi Stu, As I live on an end of terrace, so dragging about 100ft down the alley might be an option, thanks for the idea.

Yes I am contemplating it, as can't really afford to purchase a replacement SV seeing as I was only 3PFT, so a repair job is the alternate solution.

Plus, I've put it down to being a lucky bike, so may need to keep the bond with the "silver fox" a little longer :p

thanks.
