Southend Shakedown + BBQ
 

Seeing as The Sun have let us down - no £9.50 holiday for us this year :-( - I can confirm that the Vox's will be hosting their usual BBQ on Easter Monday to celebrate the start of the biking season (for those who don't ride all year round anyway !! :p)

The meeting place will be the same as before - the local Lidl supermarket - see link below for a map

The meeting time will be 2:00pm - to leave at 2:15pm - to arrive at Chez Vox for about 3:00pm after a little bimble around the local lanes :smile:

Directions from the seafront are :-

Ride east to the traffic lights at The Kursaal (sea on your right, arcades on your left) - turn LEFT - at roundabout take 3RD EXIT - look for LIDL SIGN on the right.

As per usual all Org-ans are welcome - a PM nearer the time would be appreciated just so we can get some idea of numbers.

We've been lucky in the past (ok, so it was snowing in London a couple of years ago - but Saafffend was sunny !!) so keep your fingers crossed for good weather !! :cool:

Me too, always a great day in my calendar regardless of the weather. Tho that year you had the pool out and i was sat in shorts wih my legs in the water mmmmm, well lets hope for weather like that again!

Yay - I'll be there, either pillion or at worst in the car. If BBC is already making cake then I may throw together some of the lamb & coriander and beef & stilton burgers that I usually serve at my BBQs in ciabatta rolls.

Oh, thanks. If I can manage to ride pillion I will, but Stu's bike is up for sale so we may be in 4 wheels only by then. I'll even wash the car as it's a special occasion.

Perhaps we should start thinking about a list of who's meeting up where.

The big rideout from The Ace leaves at 10:30am. We're not obliged to leave at the same time, of course, and it does affect fuel consumption doing a ride at low speeds like that.

I seem to remember last year that we sat around eating bacon sarnies etc at The Ace for so long that we didn't even catch up with the main ride!

I've made 8 beef and blue cheese and 8 lamb, chilli and coriander burgers with yogurt herb topping. In the freezer ready for Monday.
