Help me & Mrs Drew choose a wedding song??

Evening All

Me and Mrs Drew are playing round with songs and trying to decide on a wedding tune. We keep disagreeing and coming up with so many options......

So, I thought that I would ask the good people of the Org to help us out, as you have done such a good idea with the bike related issues so far. lol

Anyway, hope you can help

Drew (& Mrs Drew)

Re: Help me & Mrs Drew choose a wedding song??

It`s meant to be a song that means something to the 2 of you isn`t it. If you haven`t got a "special" song these are meant to be the top 10 first dance songs

Re: Help me & Mrs Drew choose a wedding song??

Well, we don't have a special song and fancied doing something a bit different, at the moment we were seriousley thinking bout having a laugh and having "Footloose".

We are both a bit crazy by the way and would like a laugh.

Re: Help me & Mrs Drew choose a wedding song??

Would also suggest Van Morrison "searching for someone exactly like you" or maybe Andy Williams "Can`t take my eyes of you"

Best of luck :D

Re: Help me & Mrs Drew choose a wedding song??

Me and Mrs Furry Ginger One (!!) were also undecided on a wedding song. In the end we opted for Always and Forever by Heatwave. I did suggest that we throw caution to the wind and have whatever is No 1 on the day. She wasn't up for the gamble. It would have been Darius with Colourblind. My reasoning was that we didn't have a song which was "ours" and that at least whenever we heard that song in the future we could say that that was No 1 when we got married.
Of course, there is a gamble to doing it this way, imagine something like Natasha Beddingfield, I want to have your babies !!!!
There is a site called www.wedalert.com if you want a look.

The thing is, we both dance like mentalists and just like to have fun, so to us, thats what our first song needs to be, something fun that we both will enjoy.

For instance, Mrs Drew was just jumping round like a mentalist to Katrina & The Waves - Walking on Sunshine!!!!

Chuck Berry - You never can tell <--Complete the illusion by learning the dance scene from Pulp Fiction
Queen - Don't stop me now <--Just for the first line
Scissor Sisters - Filthy/Gorgeous <--Great if either of you have conservative relatives
The Clash - Rock the Casbah

let me know if i'm going in the right direction with this;)

Loving the queen idea, not so sure on the shock tactics of Scissor Sisters etc.

Cheesy 70's & 80's seems to be the way forward. There's just too much choice.

Re: Help me & Mrs Drew choose a wedding song??

Oh dear, cheesy 80s, let me just look through my "Rated 5 stars" playlist (insert embarrassed smiley)

Bryan Ferry - Let's Stick Together
Foreigner - Hot Blooded
Huey Lewis And The News - I Want A New Drug / Power Of Love / Hip To Be Square
Journey - Don't Stop Believin' / Wheel In The Sky / Any Way You Want It
Night Ranger - Sister Christian
Scorpions - Rock You Like A Hurricane
Robert Palmer - Bad Case Of Loving You (Doctor Doctor)
Starship - We Built This City
Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers - The Waiting
Bob Seger - Old Time Rock 'n' Roll

Horrifically, those are just the results of trawling my "5 Star Rated" playlist

**hangs head in shame**

still it could be worse, it could be country...

edit:: missed this one:
Def Leppard - Pour Some Sugar On Me

Re: Help me & Mrs Drew choose a wedding song??

Why hang your head in shame, there is nothing wrong with appreceiating what will soon be deemed as classical music.

Whenever you have a party nowadays, people don't tend to dance to recent music, they tend to go crazy for the old stuff. As an example, every time The One And Only by Chesney Hawkes comes on I love to have a jump around......I'll get my coat!!!! TAXI

Getting back to the actual post, would love to jump up and down like a lunatic in full tails and Mrs Drew in her dress, would be brilliant.

Hehe, love it, BUT......children will be present, the grandparents are very old (So may have heart attacks) and the brides father still considers her his little girl.

But nice idea, would love to see someone play that at a wedding. lol

Mr Cheesey here and I would suggest an oddly appropriate little ditty by Atlantic Star. "Always".

I did the close up, round and round drilling for oil dance with my new bride to that one.:makelurve:

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, what a lovely song, :smt078just kidding. Cant really copy it though.

After today we are thinking a nice slow song, maybe Come Away With Me by Nora Jones, and then have the silly song straight after, currently Footloose to get all the toes tapping and cheesy dancing going.

(Mind you with 18 months left to go Mrs Drew might change her mind 500 times)
