Re: Very Lucky
These sort of people shouldn't be allowed on the road! Or out of their houses for that matter......
|
Re: Very Lucky
Now I'd love to see the instructors risk assessment review after the event lol
|
Re: Very Lucky
I`d like to see what condition the bike was in!!

Re: Very Lucky
Perhaps it's some kind of new 'extreme' training method - you'll perform this u-turn on the edge of a cliff in the hope that fear will help you from over-running the bend.
What's next I wonder... ... practising hill starts on the edge of live volcanoes... ... emergency stops performed with the aid of snipers perhaps... ... or even bus lanes with land-mines. ;) |

Re: Very Lucky
Police officers, ambulance paramedics, a fire crew, coastguards and the Blyth inshore lifeboat all attended the scene of the accident, which happened at about 10.20am on Quay Road.
Wonder how much that little lot cost? And will she be getting the bill? |
Re: Very Lucky

Like who called that lot out? The bike instructor or the coastguards that happened along? In this case a genuine accident (as was Mel's) and as such no bill should be forthcoming. BUT I recently was involved in a rescue above Conwy Falls, where a kayaker had missed the 'last ditch eddy before the falls of death' in which to egress the river. This is a well known issue as the take out is hard to identify from the water, so IMHO all kayakers should familiarise themselves with the take out from water level before setting off downstream..... It turned out that one of the group that the rescuee belonged to had been rescued by the fire Service and Mountain Rescue from the same predicament last year. In this case, I think a bill is deserved, even though rescue was effected by knowledgeable by-standers (us, fellow kayakers) since a turn out from Ogwen Mountain Rescue and local emergency services was caused by them calling for help in a situation that was entirely avoidable and which at least one of them had experience of. |
