Where Should i take the missus. - You decide.

Up the where? :o:o don't be so rude - lol.

Seriously - Me and the missus fancey trying a bit of touring on the bike in the spring but we don't really know where to go. We're looking at a long weekend

Any ideas of where we should go?

Would be nice to go abroad - but not too far as we only have a weekend.

West Coast Scotland sounds good - do u think i could get from Cambridge to Skye to and back in a weekend?

Northwest france also sounds good - it would be dead exciting taking the bike on a ferry or through the tunnel. (are bikes allowed in the tunnel? been in the car loads of times but never seen a bike!) Can you recommend a pretty place in france to visit?

The Vosges:cool:

Around Colmar.

Get the Dover ferry, feels like more of an adventure being on a boat.

:)

We are in a similar situation, wanting to do our first bit of touring but not sure how much we can cope with!

We have decided to team it up with a BSB round, so we are going to ride up to Cadwell (from Wiltshire), stay in a B&B, do some touring of the area, attend the race day on Sunday, then pootle home on Monday.

We did look at France, the accommodation seems really reasonable so it offsets the ferry costs, but we wimped out. Maybe next time.

This is a really nice B&B near to Cadwell. We've stayed there and the guy is a biker.................even if he does only ride a H*rl*y:D

Yes you should be able to, but wont have much time to loiter and as I said up there ^^, spring + Scotland may not be so good, really depends on the weather, last year was a bit damp and cool up till late May. I did a tour round Wales just before Easter and was very comfortable. If the weather is good then its a good time to hit the west coast as its before the main tourist season really kicks off but that wont stop the Midges ;)

What about a little farmhouse outside Bath? Lovely walks and rides, not far from Bristol to visit for the day and Bath is beautiful.

Sorry Hun, couldn't tell you. We spent all day at Cadwell, then stayed for a BBQ with our friends and just went back to the B&B to sleep. Besides, we don't drink so never notice pubs:)
