Entertaining Dan part deux. - what's in your pocket?

Following on from the successful "what's under your seat" thread we move onto the slightly more risky subject of........

What did you find in the pockets of your riding jacket last time you had a good clear out.

Feel free to park this thread until the Friday wind-down.

For me :-
  • About ?15 in small change
  • 2 sets of custom ear plugs (1pr total block 1pr 5db bypass)
  • Several used (hopefully by me) disposable earplugs
  • Various washers of unknown origin
  • A brake block from my mountain bike
  • The spare back-door key assumed lost last summer
  • 2 twix wrappers
  • 1 kit-kat chunky wrapper
  • About a third of a packet of polos
  • Several mustard soaked burger serviettes (or are they napkins. someone posher please let me know)
  • Several used (hopefully by me) tissues
  • Two packs of handy-andy tissues
  • Few IAM run report forms saying I'm rubbish at riding a bike.
  • Several bike shop business cards with no idea what I was going to get back to them about
  • Pair of sunglasses with one lens missing
  • A michelin-man key ring
  • 2 AA batteries (charge uknown)
  • Bits of gravel and sand
The removal of all this junk probably halved the weight of my jacket. I can thoroughly recommend a good clear out of your jacket. Especially if your pockets fill with water. It's no use finding a single tennis-ball sized clump of tissues when you're covered in anything that would usually require a tissue.

Well:

2 sets of disposable ear plugs, looking rather black and gross.
Business card for PDQ
Business card for Big CC
Business card for freinds motorbike training school
TVAM leaflet (purely to mock bearded pan rider)
Used tissues
Tin opener

Nothing quite so good as that...

Quite a few old disposable ear plugs
Quite a few new disposable ear plugs
Neck warmer thingies, snoods or whatever
lanyard and earplug holder (with earplugs in)
Back protector... :D
Loose change.

Thats the thing about textile jackets, they hold a huge amount but put a small coin in a leather jacket and you tend to notice it.

1 pair spare daily disposable contact lenses
3 packets of chewing gum (open)
1 lip salve
4 tissues (of varying states of usedness)

1 empty disposable earplug packet

My leathers has a pocket in them that can just about carry a bit of fresh air and a few molecules of fluff...

... my textile jacket that I use for University commuting though:

College ID.
University ID.
Disabled parking badge & clock (don't need to leave them on the bike but carry them incase anyone asks for proof that I can park in a crippo spot).
Packet of Polos & a Hoof-pick (hey, I'm on an Equine course OK. ;))
Lipsalve thing.

And a single cabletie.

Some very thin inner gloves and a disc lock.

Hehe, sorry. My sister is disabled and calls herself a Crippo as well. For some reason it's just weird hearing someon disabled call themself a derogatory name. Anway, never mind me. :D

Ooger, all threads in thw GM eventually turn into Idle Banter. You get used to it after a while. I think I should have my own "Dan's daily ramblings' section! :D

I've had a stroke, so I am allowed to call myself a mong.

My brother has mild learning difficulties so me and my sisters have always called him a spazz, but he's our spazz,no-one else is ever allowed to call him that.

I know what you mean. My sisters and brother have Tourettes. I have had symptoms of it but I like to call it explosive rage. We all take the p*ss out of ourselves but it's still odd hearing other people say it.

Having a Krone tool, guess you're into telecoms. I've got a powered butt (no smutt from non telecoms folk) any use to you? Cost several hundred quid many years ago. Just an analogue one. Can't remember the part number off hand but it's the brick shaped one. Make me an offer if you're interested and I'll see if I can find it.

Could possibly fit into a large pocket of your biking jacket so not entirely off thread.

Thanks for the offer, I too have a yellow brick one somewhere. Might be fluke, might be BT branded, not sure.
