as above been on the phone all day trying to get the parts i need to get my curvey back on the road.

lost the will and thought i was going round and round in circles

front subframes are like rocking horse poo mate you'll end up paying through the nose for it, have you tried straightening yours?

I'm guessing it's a faired curvey you've got? If it is the faired then the front peg hangers form a gsxr srad are the same.

Re: spent all day phoning breakers

Some online bike breakers site where you give details of what you want and they email or ring you with quotes if any of the breakers affiliated with that site have the bits

ricky 31-03-08 08:39 PM

Re: spent all day phoning breakers

done that and they come back with 111pounds for one lol

Re: spent all day phoning breakers

I straightened mine. It was quite difficult...

The bit of wood was to give me a centreline, makes it easier to eyeball the bend. The trick is to not just bend it by pulling on the ends, that'll bend other parts. Instead I got a big steel bar and attached it just to the part I wanted to shift, right in the middle, so that I could push one end and pull the other and just twist the part I wanted to. I used 2 big jubilee clips to attach it. Worked really well, but time consuming.

My garage is the BEST!

Re: spent all day phoning breakers

nice to see some one doing the work like that, spoke with my dad and he said easy to do with heat etc and would take him half a day etc,

i have phoned up the dealers and i can get a new one for 126 inc vat which i have ordered as it was a lot better than a second hand one at 111 pound

got a foot rest hanger coming tomo from ebay thanks to this thread found it for the gsxr srad

Re: spent all day phoning breakers

Yeah, it took me an hour or two but there was a lot of refitting and unfitting and refitting in that, which I'm quite fast at now for obvious reasons

I straightened my front sub frame using my gas torch and a vice. Not perfect, but it was ok. Other plans afoot now.
