bar risers

Having done about 1200 miles on my new bike, I'm finding that I'm leaning forward too much. I understand bar risers can help me with that. I wouldn't know where to start.

I have an SV K8 (n) and most threads are about rising the bars for an SV S.

Is there anyone out there who has put the bar risers on. Are they good? How much higher is it?

Where can I get them? what makes do I need to look at? or are there Suzuki ones? Are they expensive?

Would my cables need extending?

That's a lot of questions sorry, hope there's someone who can help. :)

Hi wow, I have a dodgy arm, so have put these on my bike. I had to get the clutch, choke and brake hose lengthened (found a custom bike builder locally who did that for me). much better and more upright position for me and I am not aggravating my arm anymore. :D

Gives you about 25mm (1in) extra height, no worries with longer cables/wiring etc as originals fit o.k.

Think i paid about £30 for them about 2 yrs ago from a local bike shop in Cardiff.

I know 25mm dont sound alot, but they made a good improvement to me.

H.T.H :D

Thanks for that Tel, v clear pictures. Those risers look tidy!

You still got the unleaded sticker on the bike ;)

A friend said to me just peel it off when your bike has been standing in the sun for a while, and it worked.

Well I have secured a deal with a website to get ABM yokes and bar risers at a greatly reduced price , he wants me to promote this on here , I have a cracking price on them and will ring him tomorrow to see what he will do for the .Org :D and as long as the powers that be don`t mind me doing this for the benefit of others . I am pretty sure he had riser extensions on the site as well for naked owners .

These look ok to me. I like the fact that they're pull back as well. any views?

Tried this type on mine as a first option but found issues with the switchgear making contact with the tank on left/right lock with the bars :smt091.

Also the electrics were at full stretch ,so decided to give them a miss.

The Varios are good because they are adjustable to exactly where you want them/where they dont impinge on anything - although I did have to lengthen cables which was costly and a bit of a pain to track someone down to do it!:)

Oh no not another mod I want!! Just ordered a gel seat from America, but these risers look great, I feel I lean too forward too.

Have a look at Jota bars on M&P.

Couldn't find them on M&P. Found them on Busters. Interesting but also confusing, adding more choice. :D
Have you got them and how are they?

I wonder if tanks on newer bikes might be slightly different and I wouldn't have this problem. I don't really want to order them, get someone to start working on them and then find out that they won't fit my bike. That is too costly.

What did you go for in the end as you're saying you tried this as a first option.

My first post ;).......

These just give you the rise without the pull back.

It was the pull back element which was giving me problems.

Another option is the ABM comfort Kit for those with the S model rather than the naked , have a look here http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.p...89#post1542589 as I have secured the .org a nice price reduction :D
