Bargain PSP

Hey all. Don't know if anyone on here is interested but I'm selling my PSP on ebay. It's hardly used so in mint condition. Not long left, and it is still very cheap. Anyone fancy a bargain?

Is it a lardy or a slim one?

Re: Bargain PSP

Never mind - went to my limit for this (£50 inc P&P) and still not got it.

Still thats £50ish on the price for you - mine's a pint :P

Re: Bargain PSP

Lardy I'm afraid, but it's not exactly huge. A good bargain for someone!

That's not too bad now, I was beginning to get worried! Cheers. :D

Re: Bargain PSP

I already have 2, one lardy, one slim, both hacked :)

Got the GPS units in for them from China - is quite a good SatNav setup, nice big screen.

So yours would have been a nice backup (my wife has since taken on the lardy one for SatNav stuff).

Good luck on the sale.

Cheers. I didn't even know you could get GPS for them.

Hopefuly it'll still go up a bit, I've been buying to much for the SV! Need some cash!

Cheers for helping the auction along anyway! :smt023

Bit more info on the GPS stuff SK, I could be tempted depending on price! Wonder if I can get a mounting kit to fit it to the bike 8-[

Re: Bargain PSP

GPS isnt out yet in europe, but thanks to access to beta software and a special firmware edition, coupled with an ebay seller in China, GPS can be done :)

As said, for a "spare" more than the £50 that the unit + the postage (which is, to my mind a little high :P) is more than I can justify, but I was genuinely interested up until that point :)

Re: Bargain PSP

To be honest, I wasn't too sure with postage. Looking at similar units and seeing as it's getting posted along with 7 games and a hard metal case etc I thought that would probably be close to it. Just trying to make sure I don't end up out of pocket. Not trying to rip anyone off!

:-k When will we be getting it here? Presumably it's just the software that's required here, the GPS hardware can't be country-specific....can it?

Later in the year, cost is to be about £100+ I think (thats on top of getting a PSP).

I got the GPS units in from China @ £35 each in abotu a week and a half from ebay

Don't suppose anyone would be interested in that?

Lol - not interested in that one I am afraid, mainly because I am somewhat over-subscribed in that area too....

1 x GBA SP
1 x GBA Micro
2 x NDS

Yes I am a gadget-freak/geek :)

This got me thinking about getting one of these, so I had a quick look on ebay and found possibly the best item "question" ever:

Re: Bargain PSP

I bought from http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/cnwholesaler got the units 10 days later.

Anyone who wants a PSP hacked/cracked can bring them to the AR.

Only takes minutes.

All updates at owners risk, tho having done well over a dozen now with no problems those are minimal.

:)

Ah you linked here - ignore PM :D

Looks interesting...tempted, for a play :-k

And back to the thread, you want a real old school Gameboy...I have one with Tetris (doesn't everyone?!) and a few games, wonder how much it's worth now!

Re: Bargain PSP

SK, please forgive my ignorance, but what does a hacked or cracked PSP do above and beyond it's factory state?

I have one and love tinkering!

Basically it is the same as a mod-chip for a PS2 etc and like those devices allow you to do many things other than play pirate games.

The Legal applications

1) Running "Homebrew" software - things like PDF readers, Media players that play formats other than the PSP can play natively.

Google PSP Homebrew and see the range of software out there that enthusiasts have written

The Iffy Applications

1) You can dump your UMD disks to Memory Stick/Your PC, then run them from Memory stick - which means quicker loading and less battery use when loading data. This also allows you to carry games without risking the fragile UMDs, basically it allows you to make, and play from, a backup of your games - where this stands in copyright law is changing all the time due to the backup being on different media etc.

2) You can run emulators of other systems - this is iffy because while the emulators themself are legal, the ROM images used with them seldom are not.

The Downright illegal Application

1) Downloading ISO's of games from the Internet and playing them without buying them.

I would also advise anyone hacking their PSP gets a 4GB or 8GB Memory Stick in advance as if you end up ripping your DVD's to watch on the PSP, or load it up with ebook PDF's then you can rapidly run out of space.
