Re: side stand advice curvey
IIRC
there is 2 bolts, holding it on? have you tried tightening them? (i may be wrong) |
Re: side stand advice curvey
yea there is two bolts holding it on, they were tight and ive spaced tht plate with the two bolts out about quarter inch. it stopped hitting but it was only a matter of time before the fork park of the stand splayed out gain because the hole in the plate has gone oval with wear over the years.
i think the only remedy is to change the plate. |

Re: side stand advice curvey
normaly its the single bolt that wears out and becomes sawtoothed, i changed mine worrying that one day it would snap.

Re: side stand advice curvey
do you think changing the plate will fix my problem. the bolt and fork on the stand seem to be fine although i did close the gap in the fork part of the stand which did solve my prblem but today its catching again whihc makes me think tht the bolt maybe gone to. think ill just try one at a time .
thanks for all the help guys. huskey ive pmd you. |
Re: side stand advice curvey
If the fault is with the plate only then the stand it self should be good and reusable.

Re: side stand advice curvey
remember that even a 1mm wear in the bolt will work out as a large movement, but if you say that the hole is properly oval then its prooly a good start there, GSXR side stand plates will fit SV curvies
