What do you want?

Imagine you're a biker!

Imagine that there's a bike website out there that promises to give you as a biker what you want...

What do you want?

People to meet for a ride out?
People to meet for a day trip?
a track day?
facebook but for bikers? i.e. No Zombies/pirates?

I had this idea in Kaz & I am making the site/knowledge base I would have liked before I started my trip....the hubb was too limiting.

so....what do bikers want from the interweb?

Free fuel, tax, insurance and a new bike every year.

Other than that, pothole free roads, and various drivers to actually look in thier mirrors

Yup, but don't you think that this is a bit lacking in some respects?

Re: What do you want?

having thought about this i suppose the only thing that annoys me about biking forums are up to date issues are sometimes not. news stories, articles and such like seem to get left for weeks.
the org i find is well run and has a great feel about it, a credit to the organisers and users. one area that does sadden me is the ''fallen friends'' section. i feel it is only right to remember friends who have passed on for whatever reason and this section deserves a little more attention. i dont wish to 'avago' at anyone that is not my intention, as i said the org is a great website and you all desrve a massive pat on the back and a payrise.

so: ponies, bikes & glue....

hmmm, okay. So far it kinda resembles facebook-lite, but without Zombies or Pirates.

Probably more of interest to me than most folks given my somewhat nomadic status, but what I'd like most is a map of the UK with the following:

recommended bike dealerships,
bike clothing shops,
cheapest petrol stations in the area,
competent bike garages,
"friendly" MOT stations,
as well as bike meets on (including the times/seasons the meets tend to be active).

I think your wrong, but I expect I have a more biased opinion than most. For those that have lost friends, it wont make a hoot of difference if they are in that section or not. They will still be remembered by his/her friends. Not saying it is not something worth having, but I don't necessarily think it should have a higher profile than the one on this site has now.

For me this site has all I need with regards to biking. I have a 'local area' where I can interact with everyone local to me. I have an area to discuss bike related topics and an area to discuss SV specific topics. Then there is the community area. It has it all does it not?

I'm with Hovis. Yes I know, surprised me too.
