Hiya

Hiya, I've just got my first SV - but haven't ridden it yet! I need to get it restricted but my dad is kindly keeping it running - he prefers it to the 125 I had before... strangely! My dad signed up earlier and he said that I should too, so hello...

Woo! 33bhp, nothing to be sniffed at. I had a great time with my SV when it was restricted. You'll learn a thing or two about riding with the SV!

Welcome, happy riding

This is a day to remember. One of my daughters did something because I said she should..I'm going to sit quietly and wipe away a tear.
Now if you all could assure her that the cleaning and general well being of the bike is part of owning it I'd be very grateful.

Should have logged back in before I sent that one. It looks like she's talking to herself again....

Re: Hiya

I take it SVdog's dad is now posting too

yea, do take care of the bike. If it gets coated in crap, it only takes 5 nins to hose it all off and wash it over with some car wash and hot water. It'll make your bike last forever.

Dont forget to keep the chain lubed and maintained, and dont forget about oil changes.

Dont forget either to pull wheelies everywhere, stoppies at traffic lights, bounce the engine off the limiter when there are lots of pedestrians about. And knee down at EVERY oppurtunity. We dont toerate chicken strips here!!

I am indeed Exupdog's daughter, thanks for the welcome... can't wait to get on my SV - have a sneaky feeling that my dad won't take it though - he's already having tantrums about the 33bhp... he has kindly offered to run it for me until my 2 years is up though... erm, no!

You'll soon be on a 1050cc like me! It worries my Dad, but never mind!

And welcome.

i object to that sexist remark this is a biking website not a dating agency. however if svdog ever gets tired of family rideouts i'll be more than happy to step into the breach.;)

Ello burd, us girls will be overtaking the blokes on here soon.

May i point you in the direction of the Pennine Massive section, where you will be able to keep an eye on when we have gatherings and rideouts, so we can all drink tea, eat cake and do a lot of lunging:mrgreen:

We live in different counties because I'm a struggling lone male among a wife and three daughters in my house and I decided enough was enough and banished her. Well thats my side of it, the family will tell you that Pam's bought her own house a couple of miles up the road that just happens to be over the county border. I'll shut up now and go clean her bike.

Hiya and welcome!!

I'm posting my restrictor to you this week - even at 33bhp it's a great bike to ride, you'll love it!

What you want to clean it for? Wierdos...

Anyway, welcome :-D

Check out penine massive section here http://forums.sv650.org/forumdisplay.php?f=123
There's a nice steady rideout going on in a couple of weeks time hopefully. Be a good way for EXUP and SV puppies to introduce themselves. :-D

I think that what you meant to say is that converting your bike to 33bhp will ruin it. You should leave it unchanged with your dad for two years and then just ride it. It's easy to get confused when passing on such advice. Trust me.

Thanks for the restrictor, it arrived yesterday. SV's booked in to be restricted next week, my Dad's in mourning! Can't wait to finally ride it... I sat on it again this week, but it's not the same! :p

No problem - who are you insured with? Because both Carole Nash and Bennetts never asked me for a certificate, and it's really easy to swap the ecu (restrictor unit) yourself ( I managed it and I'm dreadfully techphobic!).

Enjoy it anyway - I'm unrestricted as of today and haven't managed my first full power ride yet, got a stinking cold and it's raining here-scared I'll sneeze in me visor:D
