Thanks I have that one but there seems to be an error on it. The clock I have has a red wire coming from it. There are no red wires shown on that diagram coming from the clocks.

I am confused still.

I have a red wire coming out of the clocks but there isn't one shown in the diagram. There are other differences as well. Yellow black I dont have but I do have a Black Yellow.

I also have a red black wire but again this is not shown in the wiring diagram.

Could someone check different versions of the wiring diagram and see if those ones have the colours I have?

Thanks.

Curvy clocks have what you describe

Quite a bit got changed around when fitting your new instruments, I seem to remember arranging some extra connections to your new instruments as they need a permanent live to keep the clock alive, it's possible that the red you can't identify is that one.

What's amiss?

What's amiss?

I changed out the main loom for another and in the process had to strip the connector blocks. All the connections are now in the headlight bowl by way of soldered joints.

I thought I followed my own previous instructions correctly but started having issues. The first was that the fuel light would not work. The clock resets after the ignition is switched off. A couple of days ago, I lost all clock function and the bike died. The electrics came back on to the clocks but the battery was dead. I had to bump start the bike. Unless the battery is fully charged all the time, I do not have enough power to turn over the engine. I assume I have wires crossed somewhere. For me it would have been a simple case of tracing the clock wires on the pointy wiring diagram and relating them to the same wires on the curvy and splice them together.

Oh and when I put the brakes on the side light bulb glows dimly.

Trouble is, the wiring colours shown coming from the pointy clock is not the same colour wires as I expected to see. I can only think that the wiring loom that plugs into the clock must have come from a different clock. Hence the question about different versions of the wiring diagram for the pointys.

I thought it was going to be easy, I should have known better.

I thank you very much for your efforts. I should have pointed out it is a pointy clock wired into a curvy.

Bump.

Any electrical geniuses <cough, sid squid, cough> want to come and help me out? I officially give up trying to fathom out what I have done wrong. :(

I can offer a warm place to work (front room), lunch and as much tea or coffee as you can drink.
