Despite the cold...

... I went out for a ride today. Took Katie on the back too. I have never riden with a pillion before as I have only had my license a few months and it was new for Katie too.

I took it easy and kept stopping to make sure she was ok and we ended up having a really good ride. Katie was very nervous to start with but really enjoyed herself, which is great cos I have already booked the Ferry for our trip to france in May!

Sounds like you were very sensible and sensitive to Katies needs. :)

Like the others have said, just be very careful today, and don't let your enthusiam overrule your head.

Nice one, the pair of you.:smt038

eyup gaz and katie,

could be worth looking at aftermarket seats for extra comfort on long journeys maybe? Everyone seems to rave about corbin seats on here and from the pics I've seen, they look proper smart :) just a thought & well done

We are going 4th-15th so will miss the GP but we will be traveling back not too far from Le Mans. We are going down to Saint Hillaire de Reiz in the Vendee for 5 days and will be bimbling around for the rest.

Hiya Paul, are they expensive as am not sure how long I will be keeping the SV for?

I want to do alot of touring two up so I will have to see how well it copes. Been looking at something like a 1250 Bandit S or a Fazer 1000 for the future.

When YC first started taking me out and about on the bike, we came up with a bit of sign language between the two of us. Possibly a better alternatice for you instead of stopping? He taps me on the leg and give me the thumbs up to check I'm ok, I respond with a leg squeeze lol. Does the trick though, made me feel loads better knowing he hadn't forgotten I was there

Great to hear Katie enjoyed it though, next step on her own bike? ;-)

aye gokart...I mean corbin seats are a rarity on ebay..but they do come up every now and again. Another option is to give Tony archer a ring and ask him if he can turn your stock seats into gel seats. Hes very reasonable and is online

http://www.tonyarcher.co.uk/

he put a gel thing in my other halfs VRaptor stock seat for when we went to France a couple of years back. I'm thinking of using him to put a new covering on my OEM gel seat as its a little like a nappy being fabric, I'm going to ask him to make it look like my corbin seat. Hes very very good and is well known up and down the country
