Poor lass, the hell she must be going through. That is all.

Usually I would feel sorry for anyone in this position, not in this case.

Jade Goody is a useless waste of skin and I resent her for stealing my oxygen!!.

Personal view of course!

Re: Jade Goody

Unlucky, but this woman has no impact on my life other than as an occasional minor irritation at the edge of my consciousness. So I can't say I feel particularly strongly about it.

Still, I've seen close friends go that way, and it's not something I'd wish on my worst enemy.

Re: Jade Goody

I think many of us will know someone who has been affected by cancer. I have no feelings for or against Jade Goody but I feel for her and her family her two boys that may lose their mum and her mum who may have to bury her daughter.

OK she has lived her last few years in the press but not long ago i posted a thread about my friend who had type CIN3 cancerous cells and urged the women to get regular smear tests, if Jade Goody's illness saves just one female then so be it

So she,s a bit annoying and defo not a celeb, but she isnt evil ffs, she,s not rose west or something, give her a break, she,s someone mum/daughter etc.

Re: Jade Goody

I don't have strong feelings about her either way. Her biys are aged 4 and 5 though, I feel so sorry for them losing their mum at that age, it's tragic.

Interesting how she's being slated for making money out of it - if I were in a position like her with a life limiting disease, and two young kids, hell yeah I'd be making money while I could. If it's in her liver she prbably doesn't have long to live, and having watched my mum and gran suffer dreadfully from the same cancer, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

No, I actually met her, where she was rude, arrogant and thought it was funny how my dad was shaking....she was still laughing when I explained that he had parkinsons.

Case rested.

I am someone who has had recent experience of cancer within the family.

I therefore sympathise with Jade Goody and distress her family must be going through. Despite her grasping for fame I would never want anyone to achieve a mediocre celeb status by how they live with cancer. It is a personal experience. If she chooses to live it in the public eye, I just hope it is to further the awareness and promote early detection etc. and not as one last chance to grab the headlines.

So was my Auntie that died of breast cancer, she fought her cancer bravely, quietly and with dignity, perhaps its time that Jade did the same I'm sorry but Jade is famous for being famous, whilst I wouldnt wish cancer on anybody I'm sorry but its not news IMHO.

I might sound shallow, but I find it hard to give a damn about somebody I've never met in my entire life and am not likely to either...

The poor girl isn't the sharpest tool in the box and doesn't have many other options for providing for her children in the long term, especially in these circumstances. I suspect that there's peeps on here that would do the same thing in her place despite protestations to the contrary. Desperate times make people do desperate and undignified things.

I wish her well and hope she survives and is then able to care and provide for her children away from the public eye.

Of course, I wish the same for everyone who is ill.

I also suspect that Max Clifford is steering her in this direction. I have rather harsher views about people in his profession than I do about Jade Goody.

Give her a break, guys.

She's been doing desperate and undignified things for years in her attempt to prolong her 15 mins.....

But still wouldn't have wished this on her, or anyone - no, not even Steve Jobs or cyclists..............

it was a long time ago. I remember her towards then end being confined to a wheelchair, when she was in pain she pressed a button and a machine gave her a morpheine injection and she was so out of it because of the morepheine you couldnt even have a conversation with her.

I can just remember the machine going off pretty frequently and thats always stayed with me.

My main thing is as others have said, cancer effects millions of people yet the only main stream media exposure it'll get now for a while will be whats happening to Jade, I just hope she doesnt trivialise it and manages to keep her mouth shut and not spout of incoherrant un-educated ignorant cr*p as IMHO is her way.

Like I said I wouldnt wish it on anybody, I just think its ridiculous that shes not famous for doing anything apart from being on big brother with her "kebab" out I just dont think its news worthy thats all.

With the disease spreading to her liver, bowel and a tumour in her groin this disease will take her and i`d imagine before the year is out. I can`t say I have feelings for Jade Goody either way but nobody deserves the prognosis she has. As others have said people are being diagnosed and dying every day but they don`t make the headlines.

However Jade has said that the reason she has invited the publicity and the cameras into her home to watch her treatment etc is to raise money in order to provide for her 2 sons after her death.... I don`t have a problem with that.

Exactly my view :-)

The point is, she's a young lass who has been told she needs to fight for her life with two little lads to think about and I just think it's a very sad situation. It does happen to so many families and when this sort of thing is brought up you are reminded of the drastic effects cancer has, just makes you appreciate what you have.

I personally think this sort of thing should be in the news, it's bound to shock people and raise awareness, and not take these things for granted. She's only young after all.

I didn't put this up for people to slag her off, have some respect guys. If she was someone else you'd no doubt react differently, just because she's been dubbed a numpty by the press and she's not the fittest bird on the block

So being a millionare is not enough money for the kids?? your right claire no one deserves a diagnosis like that however she doesnt deserve the limelight or the money she is getting, i guess trash news sells papers, i have never met the person but there is a reason that not many people like her, and i suspect its because she is not a very nice person. Having lost a parent to this i realy sympathise but im sorry i dont want to read about her in the papers or on the news because i dont think she has earnt the recognition..

Totally agree with you Fizz... I daresay she does have quite a healthy bank balance but she stated a month or so ago that she has wasted a lot of her wealth in the last couple of years.

However healthy her bank balance tho I think it`s probably a psychological desire to look after her boys. I can`t begin to imagine what would go through my mind when faced with her situation and prognosis but I`d hazard a guess that its a maternal need to gain as much money as possible to secure her boys future. She isn`t going to be here to see them live their lives, get married etc and she`s probably feeling both guilty and angry about that so she`s doing all she can do and thats to make sure her boys are financially provided for.

My mother died from cancer nearly ten years ago.

Following her diagnosis she fought the disease for over 5 years and spent the time she had raising awareness through events to raise money for cancer charities. Non of the money raise went into her or her families pocket.

Jade Goody, who has made millions from her non-talent celebrity, is attempting one last pay day from her fame through her illness, I find her ‘publicists’ attempt to justify this abhorrent.

If she was raising her profile to benefit organisations researching cures or supporting less well off families cope with the effects of this disease then I would have some respect for her.

I don't have a problem with her wanting to do that all, its just the way she seems to "*****" herself out to the media and then we get it shoved in are face that we're supposed to feel sorry for her, which as I said I find it hard to do not having met her or know her personally. As I've said before I wouldnt wish cancer on her or anybody else.

When you compare what Jade is doing with what Jane Tomlinson did when she was ill with cancer, I find it difficult to make a comparison.

I don't like her, I will be honest and admit that I find her really annoying, but I do feel sorry for her for what she is going and about to go through. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Re: Jade Goody

Jane Tomlinson would be a fantastic role model for Jade as she faced her illness with dignity and a determination to at least try and make a difference by raising money etc. I think that sadly Jade has neither that same dignity or pride in herself. She`s not as someone has already said the brightest spark and I think she really doesn`t know any other way to behave than the way she is.

I also feel that she has done something to raise public awareness of cervical cancer... she has openly urged women to have regular smear test and not to ignore them as she did. If she hadn`t ignored the abnormal results she would most likely be in remission by now.

She was brought up in a run-down part of London and her father, a drug addict, left when she was two years old. He spent four years in Wandsworth Prison for robbery. She claims she did not get the chance to go to school often, and has spoken of how she had to help out her mother, who lost the use of her left arm and the sight in one eye after a motorbike accident.

I`m not defending her or saying what she`s doing is either right or wrong... She`s angry and she`s frightened, she came from nothing and is probably obsessed with making money as she had a very poor childhood. She doesn`t want her boys to have to live the life that she did and I can understand why she`s doing this.

However rich, ugly, foul mouthed people may think she is I feel sad for those 2 young boys who are going to lose their mother and equally sad for a young woman whose life will be tragically cut short.
