to be honest i very rarely have both feet on the ground, left foot down and right on the brake. so with the bike leaning to the left you should be fine. you dont come across as a silly little girl who knows nothing about bikes and only into it for the social scene (if you know what i mean). so you wouldnt of bought the bike if you felt it were a bit much.
your clued up on bikes and probably know more than most on here.

Re: She is FIERCE and she is all MINE!!!

Thanks Guys!

Yh seat is being done this week as is the lower dogbones and forks and the restriction!

End of the day if i am still struggling I have spoken to Hagon and they can do shorter shocks. obviously bearing in mind the ground clearance, will just have to see how i get on.

i have some bike boots with a bit of heel so i'm gonna see how i go if i need a little more help will get some of them daytona boots, every little helps as tescos says!

The bike is in mint condition with a nice can, radiator guard and crash bungs already fitted!

It's just about observation and planning and being ready to put either foot down depending which side the road slopes away from you. :)

When you get it just ride, as much as you can. worry about dropping it and you'll make it happen. Take time to gel together.

Re: She is FIERCE and she is all MINE!!!

I know i shouldn't get too excited and spend loads of money on mods just yet! BUT when i want to put on a tail tidy, do i HAVE to do the undertray aswell?

Also if i was to get a seat cowl, and remove the pillon pegs and handle, will this affect the MOT! I will keep all the bits for the future! But i won't be taking pillions, so i have no need!

zsv650 21-02-09 09:15 PM

Re: She is FIERCE and she is all MINE!!!

afaik if you fit a seat cowl it'll go through the mot with no rear pegs and the tail tidy goes on with the original undertray on the pointy i think still got to do mine come to think of it.

embee 21-02-09 09:23 PM

Re: She is FIERCE and she is all MINE!!!

Congrats!

You can take an awful lot of foam out of the seat, should help no end. If at all possible try sitting on it with the seat covering and foam removed, just the seat pan. That'll give you an idea of what is possible. For comfort you can get away with surprisingly thin foam if it's good quality. Could save a lot of expense on other stuff.

As for MOT, basically if it has a pillion seat fitted it must have footrests, but with no seat it can have them or you can remove them. Mine has a cowl and doesn't have pillion footrests, no MOT probs at all and the guy who does mine is totally fair but strictly by the rules.

Re: She is FIERCE and she is all MINE!!!

Well that sounds good to me!

Is it recommended i remove the tail tidy without putting a undertray on. i don't think i'll have a rear hugger with me lowering it so much!

You can keep the stock undertray & just replace the tail tidy, with something like the EvoTech tailtidy (I only say that one as it's the one I have).

The cowl & grab rail aren't part of the MOT AFAIK. So take them off & don't worry (unless someone contradicts me in a minute).

Congrats on the purchase. :D

Congratulations, nothing like your first big bike, where about are you? stick it in your profile, and get yourself down to a local meet, hopefully you’ll see someone with the mods you want on their bike and can ask them all about it.

fairly central location, keep an eye on the regional boards for meets and rideouts, and there's always the AR in the summer.

Cheers Mark.

AFAIK = As Far As I Know

I bought the Evotech out of personal preference, and I got it cheaper than the Motrax tail tidy. I can't comment on if you'd need to replace the undertray with a Motrax (I'm sure someone else can) as I haven't ever fitted one. :)

With the Evotech you take the old "snow shovel" tail plastic off, and put the tail tidy back on.

Remember to seal up any holes, otherwise the rear wheel will throw water up under the pillion seat - which is right where your fuse box is!

Again, specific to the Evotech, but the holes are pretty small. Anything that will seal pretty well against a reasonable amount of water (the faster you ride in the wet, the faster water will try to eat your fuses :) ).

I used some silicone based sealant on the outside (as it was the only black sealant I had), and as it still leaked, I used some bathroom sealant on the inside. No more problems so far.
