HMMM Demon Tweaks!

i bought some rim sticker tape from demon tweeks, got it in great time no probs. Untill i went to put it on the bike, i heated up the rim and cleaned before i put it on, the tape was brittle and just snapped when you did anything with it, i have 4 joins instead of on on one side of a wheel manage to do the otherside carfully and then wasnt ended up with enought on the roll to do the rear wheel. hmmmmmmmm my brothers tape was fine but why was mine, ill have to see if they send me new one, i sent an email.

rant done Lol

Y C dishes out sympathy & mechanical advice in equal measure!
Better not upset him, may well need the latter & too inept to warrant the former.

But it's already got a H*nda badge on it, so who cares if you make it look worse.

Suzuki have a reputation you should be upholding. :p

Re: HMMM Demon Tweaks!

Where do I start.

From a performance point of view it is extra unsprung weight and rotating mass right at the edge of the wheel, thus affecting braking acceleration and ease of turning. With the resulting loss in fuel economy.

From an aesthetic point of view. Chavchavchavchavchav.

From a maintenence point of view, you wouldn't be able to see it after about 1000 miles, and if you actually clean your bike more often than that, or indeed at all, then poof.

From a cost point of view, it does f##k all so why buy it. Exactly zero efficiency as a modification. Maybe even negative considering the losses incurred above.

So, except for the weight saving from your wallet. Why bother with it? Other than to be a tart. Spend the dosh on a tank of fuel instead...

Or even polish the rims, looks better and saves weight...

polish the rims no way, if you want shinny metal bits why dont you buy a chopper. now i think we both have a dislike. and i want statistics to back up your explination, of weighing the wheels down, fuel economy being poorer and bad handling Lol

Re: HMMM Demon Tweaks!

OK go weigh your rim tape and I will do the sums. Also I need to know the radius of the rim tape in relation to the centre of the wheel.

chompy 04-03-09 10:52 PM

Re: HMMM Demon Tweaks!

haha i can do that for you, urm but considering i had **** tape i need to find all the small parts that fell apart, o and my brother washes his bike alot and no poof, and yes i keep my bike very clean, and before you say, i ride my bike alot as well.

:) in all wethers except snow.

Re: HMMM Demon Tweaks!

hmmm i dont like polished rims but every one has there own taste ay. the reason i was going to polish forks is because the lacker is corroding or the ally but somethings corroding.

dizzyblonde 04-03-09 11:11 PM

Re: HMMM Demon Tweaks!

its the laquer breaking down and lifting, and the ally corroding underneath

chompy 04-03-09 11:13 PM

Re: HMMM Demon Tweaks!

either way doesnt sound good to me, its not too bad at the moment but want to do it before i does get too bad. :smt115

Re: HMMM Demon Tweaks!

Re: HMMM Demon Tweaks!

i might leave them for a little then..........

dizzyblonde 04-03-09 11:49 PM
