Free 600mile service?

Firstly is it still the case that you get the first 600mile service labour free??

Secondly if it is can i go to any suzuki garage to get this honoured as the garage i brought the bike from is over 80miles away and my local one is less than 1.

And lastly (i did ask this a few years ago) how much are people getting charged now for the first service..... it seemed last time i might have paid over the odds? :smt013:

any dealer will do it for you, you just pay for the parts.

mine was already done ;)

There was a thread on this very subject, however you cant search for it as it will not allow you so search the term 'service'

Re: Free 600mile service?

It varies, and something that should be discussed when buying the bike. Mine was labour free back in 2000. Call they charged me for was oil and filter, about £30iirc.

Its not a given, although it should be, as its a 'shakedown' service, where they 'Should' check all the bolts, adjust things etc that have worn in after the 600 miles or so. As for anotyher dea;er doing it for free...i think its a bit cheeky, but you can only ask!

first service is free on all suzuki motorcycles and you only have to pay for sundaries/parts (oil filter and oil)

it is a suzuki not dealer offer

Re: Free 600mile service?

I didn't even pay for parts when i had my first service.

just booked the black beauty in for the 500 mile service at the local trumpet dealer, unfortunately not free as i bought elsewhere but quoted me £90 inc VAT, considering that includes ~£45 of oil i don't think that's too bad...

£45? Is that 4 litres for the oil change and 4 litres to get you to the next service? ;)

Wrong. It is down to the selling dealers goodwill only that the labour is free.

If you take it to another dealer then its fully chargeable.

I bought my SV650S back in October and picked it up last month, they said it was a free first service which is not on offer if I'd actually bought the bike last month. Will soon find out what I need to pay...
