Public Transport to AR09

Those that know the area well...what's the easiest method on public transport to get to the campsite?

Is there a bus service that runs near?

I did actually think that. Heck of a lot of kit to carry though. Nearest train station, Robert is your Mothers Brother.

EDIT: We have a winner :D

Not an easy place to get to completely by public transport I'm afraid. It's out in the sticks.

Nearest town of any significance is Maldon which has a fair bus service. Nearest town with a train station is Chelmsford.
But there will be people there with cars and possibly even pillion seats so get to one of the above (Maldon 5 miles away, Chelmsford 15 miles) there I'm sure can help you with the last leg of the journey.

Plowsie, just a thought..

Pack light. Get as close as you can, then get some kind .Orger to pick you up on their bike...

Re: Public Transport to AR09

Or pack loads and get someone in a car come to get you from the station, or 2 bikes. 1 for you and 1 for your gear.

I'll happily help out with the latter option mate :)

Wouldn't want to put anyone under the stress of having me on the back. I'll get there :) missus reckons we'll have a car by next week. Still fancy public transport. Says there is a bus stop on the main road by the campsite.

If I don't go in the car I will train it to that place however weird it is and cycle the last 5 mile to the site :)

South Woodham Ferrers - I was there, very briefly to buy baby milk in Asda, last weekend. It's Essex chav central. I was both horrified and amused by the people there. It's not a place to visit unless you enjoy laughing at the bottom-feeders of society.

Oops now got it, I must've accidently edited the wrong part and just re-typed the name in, the stop on the train is North Fambridge, is much closer to the site and is still the same price :)

I lived in SWF for about 5 years and found nothing exceptionally chav about it... or league of gentlemen. It's mostly a commuter town filled with people who work in London.

Ah OK. I've only ridden though it myself. I was basing my comments on what my students tell me. That'll learn me!
