Save me from Sports Day
Oh gawd it's Sports day again! I hated it when I was at school and my opinion hasn't change since. I avoided it for years by teaching in a college but now I'm in a school I can't escape.
The last couple of years I've somehow managed to wriggle out of most of the torture but this year I'm the competitors marshall for Thomson House So please someone come and rescue me!!!! |

Re: Save me from Sports Day
How can the kids be expected to be encouraged to get into sports if the teachers themselves hate it :(
Sports day was the best individual day at school. Few sprints, few long dist, few long jumps, spend the day mincing... (aye, i was one of those who done most of the events as the others in the class were not fast enough  ). |

Just remember that if you are doing 120mph and using a sat-nav, the "In half a mile, take the next exit" gives you 15 seconds to get from the right-hand lane to the sliproad......... |

Re: Save me from Sports Day
with you on this one Messie. I hated sports day when I was learning assistant. We were in charge of holding the finish line and deciding who was 1st 2nd 3rd. It would have been ok without the parents, who were never happy with the result and would badger you to look at their video footage proving their little darling was 2nd not 3rd. The wee ones were the best, wee boys trying to skip but turning rope backwards. Few kids who are so uncoordinated they have problems putting jackets on are asked to take part in race involving dressing up - no chance.
