SV gone
BUT NOT FORGOTTEN
Took the sv out for a blast today, took a minor detour to a local bike shop with the missus on the back. Decided to start picking the bike we will get next summer anyway to cut a long story short. Test rode a triumph sprint st, came back and promptly part ex'd the sv in against it. Felt so nice and relaxed plodding along at 100 odd, on the sv i coulnt breath over 80 today cause of the wind!!! Roll on next sat its collection day |
Re: SV gone

Re: SV gone
Nice one - I had had my Sprint ST1050 for about 6 months now, and love it - have covered around 3500 miles, and did 670 miles two up on a trip to North Wales and back in a weekend a couple of weeks ago.
Check the headlight alignment - they are usually set too low, I have upgarded the bulbs to nightbreakers which helps - seriusly considering a HID conversion now though, and a set of trident pipes  |
Re: SV gone
Will check that out though to be fair dont do to many dark miles these days.
Trident pipes look good are there many others available? Havent done to much research was sort of a spur of the moment purchase. Really cant wait to collect it then for the good weather to come again On another note gonna strip my sv of its k-tech springs 0.85kg, gsxr calipers and adapter brackets and will hopefully be able to get the carbon can off which will all be for sale in the very near future |

Re: SV gone
Thanks
sorry to be a pain matt have you got a pick of your gel seat? The 1 i have bought was mega comfy but some of the piping was coming away from the edge of the seat, so when i pointed it out to the salesman he said he would put a new seat on there. He is gonna look for a gel seat for me though, but i was wondering if it had a gel seat already fitted as it seemed so plush. So dont want to risk it being replaced with a standard seat if its already got the gel 1. Any idea if it will need re-mapping with the trident pipes? Any good triumph forums out there? |
Re: SV gone
Also - not sure if you know, but there is a recall on all Sprint ST1050s at the moment for a replacement suspension drag link, had mine done on Saturday, only takes about 15 mins

No pics, however I have just had a look at the two seats. The standard one is all covered in the same material, looks very similar to sort of material as the SV seats are covered in. The gel seat looks as though it is part leather/part suede type fabric - the seat pads are suede, the lower bits are leather. The gel seat also has a 'triumph' tag/label on the right hand side, whereas there are no labels on the standard seat. The trident pipes do need the Triumph TOR (Triumph Off Road) download from a dealer. Forgot to mention earler, you can also get a Triumph race can - known as the TOR - have seen some on ebay recently for about £220 new, which is a bargain. There are some triumph sites however I still hang around here most of the time (there are probably more triumph owners on here than on both of them anyway :D):- www.triumphrat.net www.triumphtorque.com Also, if you are getting it from a triumph dealer make sure they do the suspension drag link replacement before you get it, saves the hassle of having to take it back. |
Re: SV gone
Thanks for that il ask them tomorrow if its been done, any particular years it effects?
This is a 2007 model Thanks again il still be hanging around here to never posted that much but its full of good bits to read |
