My New Bike!! (...and no longer an SV'er)!

Not sure why it's taken me a few days to post this..but anyways...

Went down to Southampton on Friday to pick up my new ride. Kawasaki er6f 2006. Picked it up for £2300, with 11,000 on the clock. Friday was the first time ive been back on a bike since my first off a few months ago where I went piling into a BMW's boot!

Rider Support said my money was on the way, but I couldn't wait any longer, so was looking on the net for a new bike. Was contemplating another SV, but I always liked the look of these er6f's, so decided to go Kawasaki (variety is the spice of life after all!)

Was quite a tough ride back. Loadsa motorway riding, cold wind, and patches of rain. New bike maybe, but still couldn't wait to get home and warm!...

Well after less than a week, I've realised I'm going to buy some aftermarket sports handlebars. I'm not a big fan of how the handlebars sit (bit too high for my liking, SV's were better). Found somewhere in America that ships them. Would Kawsaki dealers fit it for me if I turn up with it, or is there cheaper places?

Its great to be back and riding again. I've already learnt a lot from my last off. I'm never too central anymore, and am always thinking of a potential escape route should some other tools gear box jam infront of me. Either way, love my new bike!!

(cept for the damn Top box that came with it...its irritating me soooo much, its affecting my sleep, lol!...Tried to remove it the other day, but rounded of one of the allen key bolts with a cheap allen key and buggered up a simple task. Might take it to a garage before i make matters worse and am left with the pizza delivery boy look forever, lol!)

Either way, my first love was with my SV, so still an SV'er at heart!!

Because if I had been riding long enough and was experienced enough, I might have gone with a Gixxer or an R6. But I haven't and so didn't want anything too crazy too soon.

Loved the riding the SV and gelled with it great...like the street/sports bikes and so just went with something with a different look!..Aand I guess no two bikes can exactly be identical anyway.

Am I in for an SV army of bashing?...eep:rolleyes: lol!!

Hi Thulfi, nice colour in black. I have just changed up from the 07 ER, yes the exhaust is standard. I traded because I coul'nt get on with the rear wheel having an adversity to white lines and jumped off them, even having attempted to set the rear up correctly. When I purchased my new bike they told me it was a common problem and the rear spring benifits from changing. Shame they could'nt tell me that when I complained twice at services?
ENJOY variety IS the spice of life, you have PM.

Looks like a good bike ..... and not a bad price !!!

I wanted a white one ........ but the prices seemed crazily high compared to those of the SV

I was thinking about getting a ER6f when I was looking for my first bike, but, I couldn't argue with the cost and sportiness of an SV
