GTX 280 wanted
 

Hi guys my pc graphics card has gone and i bought a ati 5770 XFX, and it hates my motherboard, disabled all my overlcoking control panels so i am looking to replace the broken GTX 280? Anyone got any i can buy off them or swap the 5770 for with cash as well?

I am selling th ati 5770 :D its on ebay but would rather sell to the forum. i get 31*C idle temps and on crysis 60*C


but i have overlocked the ati 5770

I have attached a photo of the overlocking, and its on ebay right now for £94 bidding but wanted £120 due to the fact its only a few months old and used about 4 times

PC gamers eh, dont you just love em. Spend more time tweeking the graphics settings and running benchmark software then they do actually playing the games.

(disclaimer, I am basing all assumptions on what I did when I used to play PC games)

yer, it took about 10 mins to overclock was very easy :D but yer voodoo was ****ing ace if you could find a game that was enabled with them ;)

anyone got a idea of a 9800GX2? as im looking to get alien vs predator and need a graphics card to max it out, so maybe 2x 9800gx2 or 2xGTX280

NO NO NO NO NO....... NO lol gx2's are a pile of stuttery sh*t :D and quad sli it useless as well ;) get the 2x 280's they will max it but to be honest one gtx280 will max AVP2

my 2 9800gtx+'s can nearly max crysis and i can run cod mw2 max with one card at 1920x1200

Thanks for the quick reply mate, i wasnt to shure about them i have 1 gtx 280 still here so no worries, i guess i will have to tell the guy im buying it off sorry :D

my board is hating ati, when it takes crossfire and nvidia sli lol, dont ask me but when i have ati i cannot alter any of my OC profiles or LEDS!

^ it wont matter even if its x8 as long as its pcie 2.0 the gtx280 cannot use all the bandwidth (apart from 4x slots) its when its PCI-E 1.0 x8 when the GTX will hit a bottle neck

just for a quick referance

PCI-E 1.0 16x = PCI-E 2.0 8x, PCI-E 2.0 16x has twice as much bandwidth as PCI-E 1.0 16x

you may allready know that lol

PS even my intel 775 motherboard has 3 16x PCI-E slots 2 are 2.0 one is 1.0 but all 16x

Its all part of the fun... What fun are consoles? :rolleyes:

I have had compatability issues in the past... A shame because they do have some major fast cards at the moment. Oh well im happy with my 9800GTX for now. :)

my 5770 is running well hot .. i dont know if its down to the room temperature though.
40-45 c on idle and goes right up to 85-90c under 100% load.

That dont sound normal, I thought those things were supposed to run really cool!?

Is it going back to 2D when you finish playing games?
