Re: Exaust ?
that's like asking which is the best colour and shape of SV ;-)
I loved the exhaust I had on my SV a renegade can.... however my husband didn't like it and much prefered his Scorpion street extreme (which i know a few people on here have) just a personel choice, go onto you tube there are a few sound/video clips of different exhausts on SV's |
Re: Exaust ?
Lots of choice out there.
Fuel Carbon Can Company Beowulf Blueflame etc etc All will give you what you want. Just set your budget and see what you like the look of. Personally I like the Oval Blk "stubby" Beowulf from the list of manufacturers above... that said I also like the Scorpion Street Extreme's. |
Re: Exaust ?
Akrapovic if you can spend more and a CCC or beowolf
|
Re: Exaust ?
if you can find one my rennagade is great look the nuts to :) but they went bump but you may still find one

Re: Exaust ?
To my mind the smartest looking exhaust for the pointy is the Beowulf warrior. Particularly in the black if you've a black frame like me.
|
Re: Exaust ?
Beowulf black round stubby on mine.
Sounds emm quite loud? Ask those at the GMII! :smt083 |
Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
Pffffffffff !!!!! Nothing compares to the good throaty bellow of a Scorpion Street Extreme . Still sounds good with the baffle in too .

Its all down to your own preferences on what you think is the best sounding exhaust |
Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
Aren't the Scorpion cans a bit expensive though and Akra's defo are, plus an Akra is too long in standard form.
Got to say, the Beowulf stubbys look and sound nice. Not sure how expensive they are though. |
Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
Akrapovic full system sound awesome.
|
Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
Scorpion are usually betweek £180 & £220 for a Street Extreme if you shop around. So slightly more expensive. However, the customer service is second to none, they re-revited and returned my can to me within 48hours. I was sent the wrong link pipe by a third party company......Scorpion just sent me the new correct one free of charge.
Back to the original poster......it depends completly on the look and sound you want. If you want a loud, raucious, stubby.....then I would say Scorpion Street Extreme. If you want a tri evo bit of bling bling.......then I would say Blue Flame Tri Evo. If you want something that is slightly more traditional shape wise, but with good tones, then beowulf / fuel etc are all par the course. I would suggest you choose your budget to begin with, then if you want a loud bark or deathly growl......then finally the shape. That still doesn't answer your question....as there is no definative answer. |
Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
ART. But I don't think they are manufactured any more.

Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
I've got a viper can on mine. I think it sounds great! Got it from ebay for £21! not a mark on it. Didn't come with a baffle but got one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DB-KILLER-BAFF...item23051a97f3
Sailed through MOT no problem at the dealers. There's the low budget option! |

Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
Beowulf stubby is around £150 - £165, depending on material used.
Thats what it looks like on mine. Nice growly rumble. I would prefer to stubby it a bit more, needs to be louder :p http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/DSCF0285.jpg |

Renegade haven't gone bust, just taken the business abroad. Heres mine on my old sv, now fitted on moojuicepez's bike:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zr2WPYsBJGw Oh, and my can sounds best ;) |
Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
They moved abroad about 2 years ago, however, if you can find some way of buying one then please let us all know. The contact details for them in portugal were not being responded to last year. As far as I was aware, they moved abroad to continue trading then everything went quiet.
|
Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
Perhaps our Portugal based members could track Jorge and Tomoko down and find out if they are trading? :batman: Renegade made awesome exhausts, the twin set up on my curvy sounded the best (natch :D ).

Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
Everyone says their own sounds best.
I had micron full pipes and a stubbied fuel can, that sounded freakin evil. M4 I have now is very deep and boomy but not half as angry. Better power but the noise of the old one would melt your head. |

I posted up a link to their site on another thread. They were doing the work from portugal and shipping cans to wherever but obviously with added shipping costs. |

I emailed him in them in the summer for a price on a full system on a triumph and got a reply a day or so later. The shipping was the problem :( |
Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
any one else think the videos dont do the sv exhasts any justice

Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
Any exhaust sounds better than the standard one mate.
Ive got a CC co on mine and it sounds good even with the baffle in. It was about £110 ish |
Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
Quill is another option, fairly subdued compared to many others and a shade pricey but good quality. A reactive design so doesn't rely on absorbtive packing (hence doesn't need re-packing). I inherited mine.

Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
sounds quite beefy :)
cheers |
Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
I bought a delkevic 350mm stubby the other day £119.99. Sounds absolutely fantastic with the baffle in. Much louder than standard. V twins are louder than in line fours, so i'll probably not take the baffle out, as my gixxer 1000 is about the same noise level with the baffle removed! Looks like good build quality and fitted perfectly,
|
Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
^ twins are louder close up but not when on the move

But your typical sports 600 does sound rather whiny. |
Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
Theres a difference between "Loud" and "sounding nice" though.
I've heard some quietish cans that sound lovely, have a really nice tone etc, and I've heard some cans that were just horribly horribly loud and to my ears sounded bl**dy awful. I always liked the sound of the blueflame can my curvey SV had on it, I wasnt to enamoured with the build quality though. Liz had a Viper IIRC can on her curvey that sounded similar, she has a remus on her pointy that I l also like the sound of. Best thing to do is get yourself off to a SV meet / rideout once the weather sorts itself out, have a wander round and listen to the different makes of cans and see which one you like the sound of best. |
Re: What's the best sounding exhaust?
I love the sound mine makes, akrapovic headers with a scorpion (race only) silencer, <105dB but ear splittingly loud at full chat (enough to regularly get re-noise tested from the drive through). Sounds really nice though.
I wouldn't have it on the road though, too loud, I prefer the stealth aproach. Druid |
