As resident owner of the original SV Bambikiller, I can safely say he didn't try hard enough.:smt015

He didn't cut it in half, I did and it was only at 60mph.:takeabow:

However, I can say that the front end was slightly more wobbly than in the vid, well it would be....he only clipped it, I had the damn thing jump on my front tyre and try to bounce off it!

Now THAT would've been a better scene in Bambi than the snowy field.

Just watched it again. He didn't even get his boots splattered. Gah I were covered in sh!t from head to foot.

Bet he looks in every bush these days, took me years to stop looking for moving bushes.
Just to add insult to injury, a damn duck tried to do the same thing on the same stretch of road last year, difference being was being pitch black you don't expect to see a duck staring at you like a Zombie in your headlight.

'aaaahh f00k a duck..' scared the bejeezus out of me.

I really hate that A65, flippin animals do it on purpose I tell ye!

The only thing I've killed on my bike so far was a little birdy, a house martin I think. I was only travellin at about 20mph when it happened. All the other birds thought they'd play it safe and swoop over me but one little daredevil thought he could make it underneath my bike and between the wheels. Great aim actually, I saw him enter between the gap but never exit, feeling a slight bump. Poor thing.

He needs to learn how to mount his helmet cam so that its actually worth having it there....

Re: Roadkill - Amazing Vid

He says in the comment space that he mounted it wrong by accident on that particular ride.

I was going down a motorway 0n my GS400 near Inverness years ago, about 5 in the morning when a seagull grazing on roadkill, instead on stepping out of my way tried to outrun (fly?) me at 80 mph! as you kids say... Epic Fail (+Splat) I has a feather lined GS all day! (I never knew their wings were so big up close!!)

His mate says "you cut it in half" :p

And you were less wobbly, you stayed on right (left) side of road lol

I remember you turning up at AR07 with one cammo covered leg and one red... And the fur trapped in the bead of the tyre..

: )

Re: Roadkill - Amazing Vid

Flippin brand new boots.. red, and pink camo's...red. It did all come out though :-)

haha yes the furry eyelashes. They were my lucky charm after that, they stayed for another 2.5k to France and back! Was most annoyed when the tyre needed changing and they didn't save it! Still got the pics somewhere of the furry wheel rims.

If you hit a deer, are you in general more likely to stack it, or keep it upright?

Mej 24-02-10 07:09 PM

Re: Roadkill - Amazing Vid

stack it i reckon, it has been know to kill people, apparently its a real problems in places like Aus with kangaroos and that.

Has dizzy finished hijacking now? ;)

He was very lucky to stay on, must have been pooping it lol

dizzyblonde 24-02-10 08:10 PM

Re: Roadkill - Amazing Vid

cheeky sod Darren :-). Besides, it appears I am an expert when it comes to hitting deer head on..lol ;-)

As for 'stacking it'...in most circumstances including a car interface, its likely that the deer will make a mess of you and your vehicle.
However....although you panic, the one thing that saves you and makes you mega cool looking is to actually let go of the throttle sllllllloooooooowly, and let the bike sllllllooooooooow down and let itself ride out of the big wobble of impact. I reckon the guy in the vid did the same.

If you give it a load of panic brake it'll end up you being the mess, as much as the deer.

I still say to this day that the way I let go, even though I shat myself was because I did this.
Its a freak occurence which is unlikely to happen to many.
I do know that Speedy Claire got hit by a pheasant, wacked in the head and thrown unconcious, she said if she hadn't have been knocked out, things had have turned out a whole load different, with more than just broken bones.
