I did a novice only trackday at Snetterton a couple of months after passing my test. Booked it through these iirc http://www.clubmsv.com/.

It would be worth getting in with somebody on here (or another forum) who does them regularly and then going to one together. It's easy enough to book one but just having someone around making sure you know what to do and where to be will take a lot of the pressure off you and make for a far more relaxing and enjoyable day. There was talk of us organizing an Org trackday again but I think it sort of fizzled out....

What do you ride, when do you want to do one (weekend or weekday) and did you want to do a particular track?

Lydden is as good a place as any to start with. Good combination of corners, not a power circuit so suits the SV, and relatively cheap. My son's just started trackdays and did only his second one there last weekend (first one was Anglesea!) and really enjoyed it, despite the drizzle making the track wet/dry and combinations there of...

Looks like we're going back there on the 12th June so if you fancy joining us you're more than welcome. £99 contact www.Lyddenhill.co.uk or ring 01304 830557

Re: i want to do a track day!

Yeah, my son can't wait. He's got a little Aprilia 125 and had a brilliant time there, so much so that they moved him up into the Inters at lunchtime, and it's only the second time he's ridden it. I was a well proud dad, well I was during the moments he wasn't doing four at a time around the outside at Chessons...then I was just plain terrified!

Hopefully see you there.

Re: i want to do a track day!

I am doing mallory on thurs with focused events. Have used all main companies now. I dont think there is much difference but have heard complaints of too many bikes on at same time with focused before. Main big problem I find is unless you take a gamble on weather and book way in advance and the forecast is good as event gets nearer they are always booked up. Especially intermediate groups as they are most popular.(Quite a few who should be in novice group but wont admit it and have fast bikes down straights so kind of hold the pace! Also some should be in fast group but like picking off slower riders to boost their ego!). Just ride your own pace and enjoy, its a track day not a race. Another tip, if you register details with the companies you sometimes get discounts and info thats not in mcn. For example mallory on thurs is £99 in mcn, its £79 online! Also there is Performance Bikes mag 90's bikes evening one at cadwell tomorrow night by clubMSV that not very well advertised.

MSV are holding one at Bedford Autodrome on June 12th. The circuit looks quite exciting from a google earth viewing.

Re: i want to do a track day!

I'm doing a track day on the 6th July on Brands GP Circuit, booked through Focused events, very efficient! I have done a couple before (on a Bandit 1200 and a CBR6) but am going with a mate (SV K8 also) who has never done one, so I have booked us both in as beginners and we are paying an extra £60 each and having our own instructor for the day.
You are welcome to spend the day with us, as is anyone else who doesn't want to do one on their own! :salut:
I should add that this isn't a cheap one as it's all day and on the longer GP Circuit. Price £209!

Nolimits - Instructors are free
If you go to Throttlemonkey website, register on their forum and post regulary you get 10% off nolimits trackdays.
Been on a few trackdays with various companies No Limits and Hottrax are the best (in that order)
