Some good lanes around Leigh towards Wigan, and just beyond Bolton heading north.

Also Carrington, Lymn, High Leigh, Dunham Massey, Tatton and beyond Alti.

all are reasonably quiet coz most of the traffic is on the motorways or the A580(East Lancs).

What Chris said.

Up the M66 to Clitheroe, then Slaidburn, east to Long Preston, then south to Gisburn then Barrowford and your choice of route home.

Or, just belt around the M60, down to the Ashley area near Altrincham and play in the lanes down to Northwich, visit J&S and back.

Pete ;)

You joking? Biggest speed camera I have ever seen, whole county is double white lined.

Go to North Yorkshire or North end of Lancashire.

Make sure they are the nice roads and not that over policed, over touristed lump of tarmac called the A65.

I prefer Ribchester, Hurst green, Slaidburn, past the plumbers granddads bench, finally getting to the A65 at clapham railway station. little blast upto the bridge.

Or ribchester, longridge, claughton on brock, Oakenclough, Quernmore, Caton, Arkenholme, bridge

I'm trying to get a pass for Sat Hindle, which means I will likely be going up to the Bridge, no idea which way yet.

You going to be around Starks? Not seen that thing running outside of a shed yet.

Up to press I am thinking it'll probably be about 12ish, just up to thr bridge (I'll have a look at Wilky's route)

Could meet at the barn if you'd like then it breaks it up a bit (I'm about 10 mins away from it)

Will keep yo posted.

I do that route quite often too. A good extra is the little B road that goes off from the Woodhead across to Glossop. Then you can carry on to the Snake Pass and that way.

Good route is:
Saddleworth to Holmfirth
Holmfirth to Woodhead
Woodhead to Glossop
Glossop to Snake Pass
Snake Pass to Edale
Edale to Chapel-en-le-frith for petrol, then to Whaley Bridge
Whaley to Macc
Macc, over C+F, then turn off, do Long Hill to Whaley, then Whaley to Glossop

Then go home knackered ;)

And no, I don't do rideouts in groups ;)

Sounds good. tbh I don't really do groups either. Usually just with 2 of us, but I don't think half a dozen is bad. Just never really fancied bigger groups, the organising and TEC/markings I can't be bothered with (maybe it's just the organising side though. Will have to tag along on one of the PM ones one day)
