fitting sv wheels to gsxr front end

is there anyway a sv wheel can be fitted to a gsxr front end

depends, you would have to change the bearings and then somehow space the disks out or space the calipers in a fair bit, not worth the trouble

as above... but someone on here did do it, i think it was on a silver curvy and the name began with an M. I think. I think they had a spindle made to fit the SV bearings to the GSXR forks.

Yep, it was me! It can be done, have a look in my picture albums and see the special front spindle I had made for me.

I can't take the credit for dreaming up the idea, but it can be done. Depends on the front end you're going to fit as well. The spindle and spacers wouldn't be difficult for an engineering firm to knock out.

Wish I'd done this, speedo's been a right pain in the ****.
Nice work maviczap

I take it you used stock calipers as well?

Different hole spacing where they mount, and no point.

Maviczaps is GSXR slingshot parts so probably easier to do than SRAD or later. Personally I don't see point of using slingshot parts because using SRAD or later is so easy and they are better parts.

You'd have to use gsxr fitment calipers regardless of wheel used I would have thought, due to the mounting.

yep stock calipers & YC is correct in that i used 1991 gsxr parts as steering
bearings are the same as Sv. makes everything simpler

I don't know about 1991 (M?) but for sure 1993 watercooled parts make life hard for no reason, you need to remake all lockstop assembly.

More fuss than I think is worth when you can just buy a bearing to drop in directly and use SRAD yokes where everything works as OE.
