Boxhill to fish'n'chips - Sat 28 Aug
 

Hello all. Unless the heavens open, I am planning a nice twisty route for anyone who wants to join me this saturday. 9:30am start. 5pm ish finish. 150 miles.

The planned route is Boxhill > Newlands > Godalming > Midhurst > Portsmouth where we will stop for some Fish n chips.

Then back through Chichester > East Livingston > Billinghurst > Rawhook > Boxhill.

Warning: This will be my 1st planned ride out, so I may hash it up, but i'll have satnav and maps so hopefully will be ok.

Nate - could potentially be up for the first part of this but I will not get to Box until 10ish. Have to go get my head bearings checked at Steve Jordan's at 9.30. But otherwise, this would be perfect since I have to ride down to Emsworth (near Chichester and Portsmouth) on Sat afternoon anyway!

Is 9.30 your definite departure time?

Find A24 London Road, where A24 crosses A25 you should see signs for it :D

I'll be there just before 9:30, so we could leave at 10am. Don't want to leave much later than that, otherwise you could meet me at Newlands. I'll stop there for a bit for anyone who wants to join us there.

Ok, may meet you at Newlands, say 10.30 then :) But either way will drop you a text to confirm my whereabouts / timing.

:lol: Too early and you'll be getting to Portsmouth for fish and chips for brunch! :-P

Haha, nah dont go back to Plymouth for few weeks. Travelling from Farnham this time. I know all the way up to Dorking n then i get a lil lost. Looked it up on google maps n think i kno, but i have the sense of direction of a damp sock. ;)

Um... from Dorking, get to the ****/rooster roundabout, turn left and just keep going (past one mini roundabout) and Box Hill will be right at the next roundabout... you can't miss the signs!!

I would love to come for a ride and meet you all but I'm picking my keys up for my new flat at 11 then working at 2. I might come down to Boxhill for 9.30 - 10 and see whose there.

So everyone knows where i am, should be arriving at Box Hill 9:30am, leaving at 10am. Arriving at Newlands 10:30am, leaving at 11am. Head down to portsmouth with a petrol/snack break half way. Arriving at Portsmouth 1ish... :-)

No worries. Sorry about the naff route of endless gravel. Will do more research next time. The roads you showed me were way better. Was nice to meet up for a ride still

Unfortunately not. Im in cambridge visiting friends. Mate, the roads round here from Ely to Soam are amazing. Im going to keep a record of all the good roads i come accross.
