Revenge will be sweet...mwuuhaaahahahahahahahahaaaa!

SO, I did pick a pair of Leo Vince cans off the Raptor Chapter for a lovely sum of £100.
They were a little tired, unloved, scratched and scuffed

http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b.../PICT01921.jpg

So I had a nice man polish them as I'm too fat to be bothered with usual shiny shiny magic:smt040

Oh look he seems to have polished a hole right through them!!!!!!!!:-dd

Very shiny indeed :-)

dizzyblonde 26-08-10 05:42 PM

Re: Revenge will be sweet...mwuuhaaahahahahahahahahaaaa!

They aren't supposed to be that shiny, they are an alu/alloy material, so supposed to look more of a titanium brushed finish...was rather surprised when he got them out of the box!
They will be harder to keep clean, but a nice place to carry on from.

I am waiting for some nice person to fit them now.....3.5 weeks and counting until the beginning of my return...mwuhahhahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaa!

Better make sure your Rap is REALLY well locked up now...not that the chavs round where you are will know the difference between a 'ped tin can to a proper one :-P

Not bad :)

I thought those logos were just stickers, didn't realise they were part of the metal.

Who are you getting revenge on?

They're badges rivetted on. I thought they may be left original yellow etc, but I kinda like em being less distinct.

I'm not sure about who I am getting revenge on.... the neighbourhood has been way to used to me driving that poofwagon as transport, its about time I woke em up again:smt045

Re: Revenge will be sweet...mwuuhaaahahahahahahahahaaaa!

Perhaps a wee shortening of say 3" in the future also?

dizzyblonde 27-08-10 08:16 AM

Re: Revenge will be sweet...mwuuhaaahahahahahahahahaaaa!

Possibly, possibly not. Depends on what they look like once on, and what they sound like. Also they've never been opened for a repack or owt, and are nice n tidy. Maybe if I accidently bash em on the gate post, like all of my cans :-(

Dicky Ticker 27-08-10 08:36 AM

Re: Revenge will be sweet...mwuuhaaahahahahahahahahaaaa!

Glad to hear you now accept it is a "Poofwagon", I mean to say why buy a car when you can have all that aggravation for free with a "Poofwagon"
These are your words not mine;)

Me thinks the exhausts might be a tad ear plug material[free issue to neighbours] but they have come up brill----enjoy.
I have made a mental note not to be "F Troop" behind you:D

Same cans that I have :) Not stupidly loud (only 99db at Snetterton) - but certainly loud enough 8)

YEAHHHH OHHH SOOO QUIET:-dd:-dd

Actually, although the new cans aren't earsplittingly loud, which I wasn't looking to be, they really do have a nice sound not picked up on a phone, and loud enough for my personal taste.

Can't wait to get it ridden to open them up:smt041

Yup as I said in my earlier post they aren't the loudest of cans but certainly are loud enough for most tastes - I am more than happy with mine :)

to long for my liking .... :D

nice though

dizzyblonde 01-09-10 04:04 PM

Re: Revenge will be sweet...mwuuhaaahahahahahahahahaaaa!

LOL, well I'd have preferred them slightly shorter, but at the moment, I'm more than happy. In fact they are shorter than the M4s on the last VRap.

If I bash em, they'll get shortened then, not that I'm intending on that.

Re: Revenge will be sweet...mwuuhaaahahahahahahahahaaaa!

Sweet, I'll give you a comparison soon love.

Cheers Mark.

dizzyblonde 01-09-10 04:30 PM

Re: Revenge will be sweet...mwuuhaaahahahahahahahahaaaa!

Thought you'd like Mark.

Although the original cans weren't overly ugly, they were very heavy and massive. No wonder the Raptor has a reputation for being a wheelie machine, its all down to the weight in the ass end!

http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...201000/023.jpg
http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...201000/024.jpg

TBH there isn't much difference in length between the Leo Vince and the original cans, but the weight difference is astonishing, and so much more pleasing on the eye:smt045

http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...201000/028.jpg
http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...201000/031.jpg

Money well spent IMO, for a grand total of £150 inc the polishers charge.

All I need now is the screen, which really is needed on this particular bike. It came with R&Gs, a hugger and a belly pan. The rad was repaired for free under warranty. All in all considering I still need the screen, I am still coming well under the asking price from the dealers, cause I haggled money off:p
I got the non molested bike I was looking for and now have the bike I intended to have, ebay purchases are just a can of worms, luckliy this bike is a baby, so its never had all the mods from muppets done that need attention.

rictus01 01-09-10 04:36 PM

Re: Revenge will be sweet...mwuuhaaahahahahahahahahaaaa!

the weight saving is all down to being "EU-free", so when you do wheelie it now, you can't blame the heavy pipes.......;)

barwel1992 01-09-10 04:48 PM

Re: Revenge will be sweet...mwuuhaaahahahahahahahahaaaa!

the only thing about the raptor that i dont like is how close to the seat the rear tire is

Well do you really think I'll be doing any wheelying?, its not exactly my kinda thing is it! I'll just settle for brum brum noises instead;)

Hmmmmmmm, 9 months off a bike, a lovely 1000cc bike waiting to be ridden, the release of all that frustration.......:smt102........;)

whatever it'll be fun.

Re: Revenge will be sweet...mwuuhaaahahahahahahahahaaaa!

no wonder its a wheelie machine, the seat is really far back, suprise you dont dislocate your shoulder when you open it up. have fun when you finally get out on it, but remember, the real fun comes when your cleaning it when you get home afterwards :smt023:

Its an odd riding position, the footpegs are a kinda sporty position, and the tank is quite long, the handlebars seem like drag bars. Its not until you sit on it, that you find it quite good, but not for tall people. Its neither sit up and beg, nor sit over like clip ons.
I don't feel the seat is quite far back, but then I'm used to it, already having one in the house before, just never ridden one as yet properly. One thing that does hit you is wind at over 70mph, hits you right in the chest, hence the need for the screen, even the most burly of men have found this a problem, even with a screen it doesn't take it all away, but I'm hoping being slightly smaller(5'7) I'll get behind a screen and its gone.

Just the setup of suspension. It needs another foot of ride height in back and it might handle ;)

Pete says it handles lovely, in fairness better than his z1000 did, which I was surprised at.
However we ain't adjusted owt since it was bought, so a quick fiddle will be in order, doubt it'll make much difference though, doubt I'll notice. As you know its naturally a low bike anyway*. I aren't looking to shove anything else on it yet shock wise.

* knee height, no need to lower for shortasses

His giggles and face made me chuckle, he was like a little boy with a new toy! A much splendid afternoon, even Pete was laughing..the retort of 'oh I'm not interested in what bikes with no cans sound like' soon changed to 'fooookin hell, thats nuts' especially when it was blowing stuff up the garden into the kitchen:p

I think it has the YC seal of approval. It went something along the lines of
'oh I think you'll have fun on it, it sounds pretty reasonable':smt045
