Shiney side down river side up!

Well black ice got the better of me this morning. Slowish spill, however I ended in a&e suspected. Broken ankle and wrist and worst bit back! :o l

Just heavy bruises and a few days off work.

The bike - foot peg gear change bar end and slider on the back wheel is the only damage I can see. Buell assist is taking it to Aston hd for a proper check. So will wait for a report off them. Couldn't see damage to the frame.

Main thing is I will mend relatively quickly and the bike can be sorted!

Be careful peeps.

sorry to hear that mate, GWS. I didn't think the roads were bad yet, the car was iced over so the air temp was low.

Woozle hugs get well.soon hun.

As for temp.last night, I was out in it for 10 mins and when I got back in panda I had to thaw out. Was freezing and froze solid early hours so be careful guys.... gritters were out this morning.

It was a burst main pipe the ST haven't dealt with for over a week. The other annoying bit is another bike also lost it on the same spot about 2 hrs before me and had to be sorted out. But no one bothered to close the road or put grit down. Just lucky that no car was coming on the otherside as that would have made it all a little worse.

I was raging the other night, took bike to work, Friday backshift, and at 3am, was riding home and it was like 10 degrees but the Amey had gritted the road!!! WTF!! And then when it's -10 they have run outta salt!! RETARDS!

Bummer :( GWS mate.

You should be able to claim off ST if that was a direct cause of the accident.
If you havent got somebody already, get them to take pics of the scene, maybe get some local residents to witness that this leak was over a week old.
Secretly ring ST and report the leak and see if they already know about it cos surely that can be their only defence, that they didnt know about the leak (?)

Severn Trent Knew about the leak had been reported earlier in the week. Won't say much more but I have a solicitors meeting on the 8th November. Thanks for all the wishes. Just want my bike back now.

Anyone got a cheap run around they don't want. - with 6 months MOT. Just to cover winter really.

£1500 of damage to the bike apx 4 weeks of waiting parts etc. Plus no riding for 6 Weeks for me with 2 squashed height reduced vertebrae!

Dear Santa,

All I want for Christmas is a nice Shoei helmet to replace the one which is written off.

Oh no. Hope you make a full recovery from that and the bike is up and running soon.

Good luck on Monday. Nail them to the wall!

Bike is now repaired....the mirrors they have ordered are on back ordered end of January from italy. Not sure but I think they are putting on rizoma stuff.

Me, I'm in good hope awaiting an MRI scan! Checking that my spinal chord is not being pressed on, by the two squashed vertebrae. So the amount of riding I'll be doing over the next month is limited to 0 and I've just bought a new helmet.

Good to hear mate, hope the rest of you repairs quickly :)
Back order Jan for the mirrors ??? what are they? gold or pure carbon?

larigos 23-11-10 08:57 AM

Gold no, carbon I doubt it. The ones I trashed where motrax ones available at any bike retail stores.

So yep waiting to see what magical mirrors they have ordered.

The Rizoma ones are the only things i can think of as they are seriously costly and have to be imported.
