dvd decrypter

Can anybody recomend me a free dvd decrypter so I can easily copy my dvds onto my laptop.
I have, at the moment, dvd fab but for some reason it has started copying without the main audio.
I aren't after anything too fancy. I just want to copy the film from dvd to laptop.

Anydvd is one i remember.

There was also software which was made to use the original dvd decrypter not supported since 2005. I forgot its name though, that was free. Edit: Named ripit4me, dont think its suported now either. Its been so long since ive ripped anything.

Re: dvd decrypter

AnyDVD, but its not free you've got to pay for a registration key

Clone DVD mobile is the same but you can rip to DVIX format6. Again not free.

Plus the free lifetime updates goes on the 1st Jan, after that you'll have to pay for updates annually

Interestingly, 3 DVDs I had for Xmas have a digital copy feature, which I hadn't seen before, so it makes it easy for you to watch a copy on your iPod or laptop etc

No AnyDVD is free to use for the first 21 days after that you'll need to pay for it, as it won't work. Hence the need for a key.

You suggested it, but didn't point out its not free :stupid:

Why does the desire to rip a DVD instantly make you a Pirate?

Just one reason why you might want to rip a DVD.

I always did this with CD's before MP3 because the norm. One electronic copy on the computer, one CD copy in the house, one in each car, and the original CD safely stowed away in it's case. When the copies got scratched, you made a new one.

Now I use MP3 throughout house and cars, CD's are all in a box in the attic and I have three copies of my music collection on two computers and one USB external drive as a backup.

If you have paid for the content, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be allowed to make and use as many copies as you want. So long as your not down your local market flogging them, or distributing a copy of every album you buy to all your friends, what's the issue?

Well I've been using Winx DVD this afternoon to test it and its great.

Ripping my DVD's to my Media player, so I don't have to take my DVD collection away when I'm working

Recommended to you FGO, and its free.

Cheers Rob

I have had a few Blu-rays that came with digital copy discs, whacked them on my laptop.. happy days. Came to replace the laptop a few months back.. copied all the files to an external drive.. digital copies no worky now, asking for the key again! One of the copies the key didn't work first time round either.. sealed box when i bought it.
...Must remember to go look for same software as OP mentioned so i can use them again!

Don't know anything easier or faster than DVD Shrink. I rip to ISO and play with VLC Media Player (on MAC or PC). And no quality loss either. For everything else, there's usenet :)

Re: dvd decrypter

OK. I have downloaded WinX DVD and put in a couple of DVDs we got at Christmas. I get the message:

Note:
You are trying to convert an encrypted disc, which is not supported in the free edition.
We recommend you upgrade to Platinum Edition!

I have looked at the free Platinum download and it only converts 5 minutes for evaluation......

Am I missing something ????
