I have a 1999 Yamaha Diversion taxed but just out of MOT. Needs back tyre and fork oil seals, which I have just ordered. Bergundy faired version, tidy condition. I have owned it 3 years and been ultra reliable. Very comfy bike,31000miles, 70mpg! Any interest to you. (Located North Yorks) £700

 Pedal cycles don't need tax or test anyway.

I have a 15 yr old mountain bike that you could have for 50 quid.

On a serious note, if you can't afford £700 for the bike, assuming you want it for road use, you can't afford the tax, test, insurance, petrol, or anything else, so stop dreaming and keep change in your pocket for the bus.

LOL! And what if he has factored in the cost of the tax, test and insurance etc and come up with £500 to spend on the bike?? lol!

Maybe he just wants a really cheap hack and isn't prepared to pay much for it!

Compared to the annual costs of running a bike 200 quid once off outlay is neither here nor there, and how could he possibly have factored in the cost of getting an as yet non existent bike through an MOT?

Once upon a time, like 3 or 4 years ago, I put an immaculate SR250 flat-tracker replica together for less than 200 quid, including the MOT and tax.

Cheap bikes are out there - I sold a good condition, 12 months MOT'd Yamaha SR250 to Plowsie for 300 quid

Re: cheap bike wanted

I dont agree with the thinking that if you cant afford £700 then you cant buy a cheapie and add on the mot etc as finances allow.

If youve only got a small pot to spend, why does that stop you putting in fuel, taxing, insuring etc sometime after buying the bike.

Maybe theyre just thrifty with cash and want a cheap initial purchase.

I decided to spend only £500 tops on a car back in september, didnt stop me taxing it when needed, and it gets fuel as required, plus fixing when the need arises.

devil1: have you checked gumtree or your local adtrader paper, there are cheapies about, on the east of england bikers site recently there was a diversion in good nick for £400!!
