The Ultimate...
 

Chocolate Cake - well that's what the recipe said it is.

I made it last night - inside it's a triple layer of fudgey chocolate cake and ganache, coated with more ganache and topped with chocolate curls.

I don't really eat chocolate - so I made this one for Chris8886 as I'm going up to London to see him in hospital later.

That's the one. I couldn't be fafffed with all the chocolate curls at 10.30 last night so did a big swirl rested over some rolling pins and then broke them into waves this morning.

wow, thats one hell of a curly cake!

Although, it would give Peg the mother of all tummy aches, with plain flour in it......don't ask!

Managed to get the cake all the way to Chelsea through the football crowds on the tube without smashing it to bits. Did I get offered a slice in the 4 hours I spent at the hospital? Nope!

I also made him big sausage rolls. On reflection, giving all butter flaky pastry wrapped pork products to a person who has to eat in bed is not a good idea. Crumbs everywhere. :grin:
