Arsenal V Barcelona

Go on Arsenaaaaaaaaalllll!

If Tottenham can play as well as they did yesterday and surprisingly beat AC Milan, surely Arsenal can pull it out of the bag tonight and manage a home win against Barcelona(Maybe I'm dreaming)? Afterall they do have Nasri, Fabregas, Walcott & Van Persie...

Who will be watching?

Im playing so will miss it but you can count on one thing. It'll be same old Arsenal - they'll either domintate Barca or they'll crumble. 0-0 isnt an option.

I am an arsenal fan and would love for us to win, but I just cant see it. Both teams play with the same mentality so it will be a good match to watch but barcelona have to much class over the two legs.

Tottenham beating AC wasnt much of a surprise to be fair. They (Spurs) have been excellent in Europe all season, very consistant and AC have a lot of ordinary players and players at the end of their careers. Arsenal will be Arsenal and pass the ball to death, or at least try to. Barca will be too good for them, both legs will go to the Cataluns, overall aggregate 3-1 or 4-2 i would guess.

Gatusso, now there's a man who needs a slap.

I hope you beat Barca 2bh, as utd's only real rivals for the league I reckon if you get knocked out you'll do everything to win the league. Plus I fancy our chances against you guys waaaaaaay more than against Barca

AC Milan always had a static defence and have problems facing a side with pace. They'll have to rely on all their attacking talent to push for the goals they need next leg and pray to god they don't get caught out on the counterattack, especially if Bale and Lennon are both fit for it.

I'm actually hoping Arsenal can knock Barcelona out of the CL. It'll be interesting to see 2 attacking sides full of talent so I might watch a bit of it.

Coome on Barca. If they play their game (we saw what they did to Real this year, Arsenal/Man U in previous years) then Arsenal will just need to limit damage and not get humiliated.

Perhaps the best team ever?

Arsenal are lucky messi missed at least three sitters. Could have been a very humiliating result in all honesty, and a mistake from Valdes let them back in it.

All the fancy football in the world won't win against a team that works harder. Arsenal tried hard and didn't rest - that's what won.

If they can keep the spirit for the next match and score a goal there's a good chance they can do it!
Fingers crossed

I had a deposit bonus with bet365.com and put £45 on Barcelona to win first half, arsenal to win second half.

Odds of 33-1 and I'm £1,485 better off. :D

you clearly missed the thriller on sky from league one on the 5th february - peterborough 4 southampton 4 !! epic

good game, Barca a little off their game but that would detract from an excellent arsenal performance. wilshere is one hell of a prospect, well not a prospect he's already a tremendous player. and ther deeeeeefence were pretty impressive for once too

Re: Arsenal V Barcelona

A very nice game to watch for the neutral. I was impressed with Arsenal's decision to go out and play their own game rather than simply trying to nullify the Barca threat. Enough chances for both sides but Arsenal made Barca in the latter stages, look very ordinary. Watching a lot of Barca due to my location, I can assure everyone that they are a superb side, breathtaking at times.,They are not my team here though!)

I wish Arsenal well but must forewarn that the Nou Camp is very intimidating merely due to the size of it and the packed stands rather than it being a threatening venue. Trust me when I say that Barca will raise their game markedly there and i hope that Arsenal can also. In a short while they themselves could well be spoken of as one of the best ever teams.

I thought it was a cracking game of football.

When Barca have a good day they turn beautiful football into something almost clinical. It's breathtaking, pure football, you actually expect them to score whenever the pick the ball up in midfield. They are without question the most entertaining and talented football team on the planet. They work so hard to get it back too, something which Arsenal did not do in the first half, but did much more of in the second half.

Regardless of what happens in 3 weeks time, I think Arsenal proved their worth, not that it will be much consolation if they lose 4-1 again.

Re: Arsenal V Barcelona

Can't see Arsenal defending their one goal lead and can see Barca scoring one easily even more so with arsenal's shakey back 4 and keeper.

Just thinking at arsenal you go the likes of scwzeny(sp)?, Djouru(sp?) and comparing them to Van Der Sar, Ferdinand or Cech, Terry or Hart, Boateng or even Reina, Carragher shows why Arsenal aren't going to win the title anytime soon.

If Arsenal had bought Schwarzer last summer they would probably be closer to Utd.
