Where's Ed. I dont know him personally nor have i been asked to write any of this. I just miss reading his posts etc and wondered if anyone felt the same? Maybe if enough orgers type that they want him back then he might just re-appear. Come on guys give him a shout out :D

After the ARTNW, Ed decided to end his forum relationship due to stick received about the rideout, It was the 1st time I met Ed and he is a nice guy n funny. I have him on my fb friends list and will send him this page and hopefully he will be able to fit the odd post or 2 on the org again.

Ahhh , Well , Ed has had a fair bit on his plate since last year , And some criticism was probably the straw that broke the camels back . I have seen nothing but good reports about that weekend , wished I could have attended it meself , but family stuff is weighing me down at the mo ...... give him some time and I reckon he will be back

He is on FB, although he doesn't appear often, hes there all the same.

Aye a bit of un necessary stick, which his shoulders weren't quite broad enough to carry. :(

Eds fine. He's just taking time away from the forum and is MEGA busy with his work. I have spoken to him recently via email. I have every confidence he will reappear when he has a bit less on his mind.

Actually mr reeder, without sounding like an ar5e, read the thread first before making comments like that.
Not one person gave him 'stick' they just voiced concerns/ comments / suggestions for next time, every single person who voiced an opinion also praised Ed highly for sorting the weekend out and commented on what a top time we all had.

I was one of those that made some comments but I'm also a person that tries to organise things in the madlanders section, which includes a camping weekend in a couple of weeks so i do know what's involved.

Just my slant fwiw.


Edit, I don't want this turning into another ARTNW criticism thread, just answering something I thought needed to be answered.

Sorry if I got the wrong idea then.

It was a good weekend Ed is a good guy ... I know he has a lot on at moment .. Busy man moving house and locum all over the country .. Hope u r well Mr Ed

First, I hope everybody's happy and well. No nasty offs...

I had a message from Electro on FB, about this thread. I was on the A49 up near Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire when I stopped for a cigarette and checked my phone. Thanks Phil:D:D

I hope you don't think that what I say next is cheesy or pious, I tell it like it is - see avatar.

I've had a hell of a few years, and like most that suffer mental illness, I didn't spot it coming. It all started with business issues, well they are more or less past now, I managed to avoid going bankrupt, just one thing left to resolve and then I should be shot of it all, with only the new business to focus on:D:D:D

But the contagion spreads, y'know?? - and it isn't long before everything gets skewed, you see even the most ordinary situation in a totally different way. For example, 'would you like a cup of tea?' becomes sharp criticism that you can't make it yourself.

And please believe me that once you're in that dark pit, it's damn difficult to climb out.

And climbing out has been the story of the year really. I feel a lot better now, and being completely open, as I think people should be, thanks to Prozac and a few other things (not illegal!!!) that I needn't explore on a public forum.

April - yes I felt fragile. I was exceptionally hurt at the time. I'm not saying anyone was right or anyone was wrong and I won't discuss it now, it's in the past and that's where it should stay. Life's too short for bust-ups and stupid rows. It's all negative energy, not good.

I think it's time to move on:D

i know where you are coming from Ed. been there, upset a few people, sorted myself out and back to normal'ish its hard but it gets better.

Happens to us all Ed, you've been round here long enough to know, I've fallen off the happy boat in the last few years a couple of times, never hid the fact either, its nowt to be proud of, but telling folk how it is, slaps em in the face and shuts em up. Although I didn't get on with prozac, they gave me summat else, my head went all woooly!

Good to read you are on the way back Ed. I know you had some issues over the past year and I am pleased to read they are mostly behind you. The org is a bit like a family, we bicker and bitch. But at the end of the day we stick by each other.

I echo Preston's sentiments. You best be parking your derrière in darkest yorkshire come August and drinking Preston's secret stash of falling over water.
