ok so summer 2012 is finally here. (talking about the weather any way). Everyone seems to be using there bikes, taking it home and then washing them. to then use it the next day for it to get dirty again. The main thing making them dirty being flies. (for road riders anyway).

so here is a thread for pictures of peoples BIKES, HELMETS and LEATHERS covered in flies. just put how long your ride was before cleaning it. ill go first

- 3 hours worth of riding in the beautiful sun

Awww damn I would have been in for a shout for "most dangerous fly murderer" if I hadn't cleaned bike/leathers before the cops came knocking ;) Will seriously try to rectify this in the week and post!

I'll be back with picture evidence.... Couple of days ago, lovely evening, pristine bike and leathers, 20minute ride. Result- scene of midge oblivion.

speaking of this what do you guys find is the best way to clean helmet/visor after such a day? warm soapy water or is there any sneaky tricks

Re: dead fly picture thread

soak kitchen roll and leave it on your visor soaking for like 10-20 mins, should loosen up the flies nicely

Pledge will take the bugs off instantly. Works a treat on leathers as well.

I use hand soap (less likely to be scratchy than washing up liquid) and VERY hot water. Works every time

I've got a V2 sponge very handy for when you're out & about
