Homophobic?

I can't stand (or understand) why some guys that are gay have to flounce around all camp and stupid acting like bird brained idiots.

I think I'm fairly easy going but I think that guys that act like this don't actually help gay rights at all.

I watched this guy on this years X factor series ( I know, I know [-X) and again the other night and wanted to jump through the screen and punch the crap out of him.

No offence guys and gals, I'm just saying how it made me feel.

What d'ya think, is this a homophobic reaction and/ or why do some gay guys feel the need to act so camp and stupid?

I know this is an extreme scenario, but you know what I mean?

Re: Homophobic?

Dunno how to describe the way I feel.
I've got one friend who could be viewed as a person who is overly camp and dramatic and is gay but he's a great guy and love him to pieces.
But generally I dislike all that über gay attitude you tend to find in some (not all) gay men.
My best friend is also gay and we both find über gays are usually very annoying.

Not really a case of homophobia just a dislike of a certain type of person who is gay.
My only conclusion is that some people are gay and that is their sexual preference and some people are gay and that is their life.

Re: Homophobic?

Well I've just waisted 3 minutes of my life watching that. I don't think it has anything to do with his sexuality, I think the guy just comes across as a complete ****.

And for the record, I'm not afraid of houses.

People are like books in a library. Their spines might catch your curiosity, but if what you see whilst thumbing them doesn't tickle your fancy, put them back. And stop watching X factor you poof ;) (can I say that?)

Gay or not gay, he was completely playing up to the camera. Urgh, hate X factor. Nicole's reaction was funny though, she didn't know whether to hug him or call for an ambulance!

Feel sorry for the bloke they booted out.

Re: Homophobic?

Mate, i agree with you, gay or not, he's a ****, end of.

Don't know why a lot of gay men have to act really over the top gay and camp, straight men dont act over the top straight do they?

I'll be honest, i don't (knowingly lol) have any gay friends so don't really know any to compare against.

Regarding X factor, me and the wife used to love watching it but we havent watched it for over 2 years, its gone stupid, its not about the best singers anymore, they choose the ones who get the show the most publicity.

Re: Homophobic?

I don't think it's homophobia, it's a dislike of deeply irritating self obsessed idiots.

That's hardly anything to do with his sexuality, my neighbours, a gay couple, find very camp men extremely annoying too. So it's not just you.

Dear God, absolutely horrifically painfully terrible viewing that is!

No not homophobic at all, wouldn't matter if he was gay/straight/lesbian/alien there is no need whatsoever for that performance! Its not that he is gay that makes me wanna punch him. Its making me suffer the 25 seconds or so of that I could watch before nearly punching my screen while screaming shut the **** up...

calm.. Calm.. CALM!...

-Ralph- 02-10-12 06:37 AM

Yes you're a homophobic. He's not a tw*t he's in a highly charged emotional situation, his perfectly natural feelings overcame him and all flooded out. At least he's able to let those feelings out on TV then it's over with, unlike some straight guys who will end up leaving the show with a breakdown because they felt they had to be a man and bottle it. The guy who got kicked out was sobbing too, they both felt like screaming, and the straight guy didn't and the gay guy did. Have some f**king respect for the feelings of another human being!

Kidding ;-) He's a total ****!

not homophobic.

Gay people are attracted to other men, unless thats the part of his life you have a problem with then its got bugger all to do with it.

Fallout 02-10-12 06:51 AM

Re: Homophobic?

I don't think it's homophobia. As has been said before, it's more like campophobia. Campness is hideously annoying. It's just over reacting, feminine little girl style, extrovert qualities, which are annoying even in spoilt little girls. At least they have immaturity as an excuse. In a man it's ridiculous.

It's has nothing to do with him being gay (assuming he is). Some guys (even straight ones) are quite feminine. It is how they are. They can't help it. But I believe super campness is a vastly exaggerated version of who they are naturally and is nurtured by a lifetime of being girly. So it is a lifestyle choice, unlike the act of being homosexual (which is most likely genetic), and any lifestyle choice we can be totally free to detest as much as we like! :D

So in short, knock yaself out mate. Feel free to hate the campness, but not the gayness. :smt052

Cant stand that program, Helen watches it and it physically angers up my blood to the point that I have to leave the room. Right there is a program that selects all the jobless lazy scumbags of this county and parades them about like hero's because they've had something tragic happen to them like spill some beans down them when they were young.

None of them are unique, none of them are really that talented and they should all be lined up and blasted with a sawn off, then get the next lot in.

That's not funny at all, because it's true. Because I suffer the same pain. I hate it. It is talentless, recycled, emotionally retarded, profit oriented bum fodder. Just another show responsible for making our youth aspire to be famous, and setting them up for a life of depressive failure.

Re: Homophobic?

My brother is gay. Sometimes he does things that are so camp/gay you want to bitch slap him and tell him to act normal. Most gay men have one camp mannerism, that you see, showing they are gay, but then I've had years of practice being around them so notice more. Even those who don't actually appear at all gay have some little camp thing that gives them away.
However, tis guy ain't so much gay, or camp, he's an actor, a very bad luvvy darling who is so over the top with his luvvy emotions, its a clear bucket of water over the head........just to wash off his orange makeup and ruin his hair!

I know you're expressing your anger but you really shouldn't start sentences with the word because.

You're welcome

Re: Homophobic?

There is the ultimate test. Before reading on, please check your nails. Have a good look at them. Now you can find out what sexuality you are.

The gay nail check test. Ask a guy to look at his nails. If he looks at them palm up, curling his fingers towards him, he is straight. If he looks at them palm down, spreading his fingers wide, he is gay. It's a scientific fact because I've tried it on about 2 gay guys and 4 straight guys, which as everyone knows is a perfectly adequate sample set.

As a side note, I asked ThunderAce and he did it the gay way twice before doing it the straight way. In this scenario I believe he is 66% gay, but has adopted a hetrosexual life in order to join the army and generally avoid prejudice from homophobes. However, since he's now leaving the army, I fully expect his closest to be exited in the near future.

So, I have been called racist, ageist, homophobic and so on.

I am none of the above, I am just not very tolerant of complete idiots!

If you act like an idiot, i will call you an idiot BECAUSE you are an idiot. Don't flatter yourself into thinking I care enough about your race, age, sexual orientation etc to form an opinion based on those things.
