What Bike to Buy next...
Right a quick question for anyone in the know
Talk me into buying a VFR800 V-Tec... seen this one and I'm Loving it. it's got 24000 miles and the the price is £4,500. was looking at a Triumph Tiger 800 but undecided as yet. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1211186106...84.m1438.l2649 |
Re: What Bike to Buy next...
I would prefer the pre VETEC one, but I know Luckypants loves his.
If I was going to sell the SV I'd get a VFR800 |
Re: What Bike to Buy next...
What you wanting the bike for?
Touring or balls out dicking about sent from place where even the devil is afraid |
Re: What Bike to Buy next...
I think for touring and a bit of as you so politely put it "Dicking about"

Re: What Bike to Buy next...
You have my thoughts lad, just fire away with questions now.
Just one thing about this bike, his GB sticker is on the wrong side.... **** poor show, give it a miss;) |
Re: What Bike to Buy next...
Cheers for the input Mike :)
I'm thinking I gonna buy one :) |
Re: What Bike to Buy next...
TBH I don't think you'd go wrong with the Viffer.
Thinking on, LP whens the major VTEC service due on them? Fancy an italian again? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aprilia-SL...item27cef767e2 |
Re: What Bike to Buy next...
Or you could get a nice zx9r (i just happen to have 1 for sale) comfy and good economy plus pulls like a train when it gets going

Re: What Bike to Buy next...
Had a VFR for about a year now and put about 7k on it. It's pretty heavy for its size and although it's still way quicker than you could ever safely go on the road it does sometimes feel a little under powered but only when you fancy a bit of crazy rip your arms off power.
The luggage is excellent, you can fit a huge amount of stuff in there and it is completely water tight. Compared to my gsxr it feels like a sofa but you can still chuck it about and I have no problem getting my knee down on roundabouts. Only downside which isn't really a downside at all is its so easy to ride and predictable you sometimes ride faster than you think you're going. I am still considering swapping it for another 1000cc sport bike simply because I miss being able to scare myself silly every now and again. If you're serious about getting one I might be persuaded to sell you mine. It's a 2009, about the same mileage as that and has a Scorpion exhaust and I'd let it go for the same bass what that's up for :) |

What Bike to Buy next...
He wanted something that wouldn't kill his back. I posted the first thing that came into my head.
A bandit 1250. A GSX 1400. A speed 4. An old tiger. I've drawn a blank on upright bikes. |
Re: What Bike to Buy next...
Id go for the vfr800fi pre vtec.
Seriously thinking about getting one myself. Apparently the early vtec engines arent very smooth on the changeover at 7k revs. The other bike im thinking of is a vtr1000 firestorm. Although the crappy tank range on the pre 2001 models is something to avoid for me. |
What Bike to Buy next...
Or the prettier 750 VFR. Circa '97.

Re: What Bike to Buy next...
F650GS is an 800 engine just like the F800GS but it is less off road orientated and slighly lower spec'ed, smaller front wheel and not so tall etc etc...good choice, should be fun :)
My dad had an F800ST, the sports tourer with the same engine, great MPG! |
Re: What Bike to Buy next...
Looking forward to it being delivered..... and I'm on Late shifts this week :(
Might have to see how the Headlight works :) |
