Aluminium Mesh

Dont know if anyone has asked this before but does anyone know where to buy the aluminium mesh from.
found some in local car shop was about £19 for a piece 2.5ft x .75ft
i only want a small amount to put on my fairings in the vents as i saw one the other day and it looked kinda nice..

I have tried e-bay and guess what they dont have any wow shock horror..  ..

or if anyone else local is thinking the same thought then we can go halfs..
but if someone has some spare that they dont want.. ??

I think your best bet would be to give Mark (aka Rictus01) a pm. He has done this with his bikes and knowing Mark it wouldn't have been expensive.

Found some in my local B&Q gold aluminium fineish diamond mesh £6 fitted on my yellow beut and it looks the biz..

If anyone else has a yellow SV650s definatly worth the mod and the stuff can be cut with scissors..

time for mod 1hr tops..

how did u manage to stick the mesh to the underside of the fairing ?
i wanna put some on my hugger (but i dont want it coming off and going into my tyre)

All i used was some Araldite Rapide and left it. I intend on putting some more on now that the grill is stuck in place just to prevent it falling off..

But it does stand out and look well...

Hmmm but won't it corrode & wind up a fuzzy white mesh? :-k

Anyone got some snaps of a bike done this way? Sounds good, but I'd like to see one first before I get the tools out :)

Sledgehammer 05-01-05 03:48 PM

Yeah there is that i suppose.. but at the moment it does look nice. and hopefully the gold stuff they have put on it will prevent it from getting to that stage to quickly but when it does it will be out with the dremmel and a new piece will be fitted.. for £6 you cant grumble.. rofl..

Will try to get some pictures uploaded for you.. might be abit dull due to the weather..
