Huggers
evening all,
Just wondered what peoples opinions on the best huggers are. |
on the K3 onwards i think the official suzuki hugger is the best, anyone know where to get one at a sensible price.
Also Colggsy has an ART hugger which looks the dogs danglys see the link Cloggsy's bike |
I like Cloggsy's one, need one for a 99-02 curvy so i might see if they do one.
|

I have to agree with Speeeedy, the Suzuki 1 is hard to beat especially for fit and finish.
Although I do rate Ermax but didn't want to take a chance on Colour match. |

Ermax and the OEM ones are very nice for the pointies. Colour match seems good on the Ermax.
There are some nice 3rd party ones for the curvies, but I can't think of any names. |
All the ART threads have gone
Basically (to cut a very long story short ) I lent ART my bike for a week in May '04 to make a pattern for the Carbon Fibre & alloy hugger... Eventually, after many many phone calls to Mr Chris White (MD) & 6 months of waiting I eventually took delivery of the said hugger (I had to go & collect it myself from their factory on my way back from the NEC biks show) & from then on I vowed NEVER to buy anything from ART for my bike... Don't get me wrong, the hugger is lovely (although I had to elongate some of the holes to fit it to my machine etc etc, but ART are a joke - they have the customer service skills of a sweaty flip-flop IMHO  http://www.clivegoodwin.dsl.pipex.com/hugger1.jpg http://www.clivegoodwin.dsl.pipex.com/hugger2.jpg http://www.clivegoodwin.dsl.pipex.com/hugger3.jpg http://www.clivegoodwin.dsl.pipex.com/hugger4.jpg http://www.clivegoodwin.dsl.pipex.com/huggerfitted1.jpg http://www.clivegoodwin.dsl.pipex.com/huggerfitted2.jpg http://www.clivegoodwin.dsl.pipex.com/huggerfitted3.jpg http://www.clivegoodwin.dsl.pipex.com/huggerfitted4.jpg http://www.clivegoodwin.dsl.pipex.com/huggerfitted5.jpg http://www.clivegoodwin.dsl.pipex.com/huggerfitted6.jpg http://www.clivegoodwin.dsl.pipex.com/huggerfitted7.jpg http://www.clivegoodwin.dsl.pipex.com/huggerfitted8.jpg http://www.clivegoodwin.dsl.pipex.co...erfitted10.jpg Sorry the pics are a bit dark, it was quite late when I finished taking 'em... Look at the link in my sig for more pics  P.S. No comments about my chicken strips   |
Sounds a nightmare but worth the wait in my opinion. That does look the mutts nuts.
|
that hugger is sweet. I would get one, but i wouldnt want to use mailorder. i would want to pay on collection, but i dont think that that is gonna happen.
Ohh well, i think the official suzuki hugger will have to do :( |

May I stick my hand up and say that the best looking hugger is no hugger. Keep it nude for that nice moto-stylee.
I hate them personally. On black I think you can get away with it and maybe silver but on colours TOO much plastic...and sometimes off colour matches too. On a later bike theres a little flap to keep the worst of the shock, and crap only goes on the undertray. It all still needs a clean. Just my MO, of course, but an alternative view point. |
i only realy want one to help protect my undertray from stone chips!
I think if i dont get an official suzuki hugger, i will just get an aftermarket one in black :) SPeeeeDY |

i have seen a silver curvey SVS with a black hugger and that looked alright,
I will only get black if it is an aftermarket hugger, official suzuki hugger will be colour matched SPeeeeDY Has anyone bought one of them SV huggers off E-bay from Banditmania? Are they a good fit / colour match??? |
