my bike - at long last

right, I think I'm gonna take the plunge and buy new....

gonan pop down to john pease in a minute (i know I've heard bad things from you guys, but hopefully buying new from there should be fine) to have a look and hopefully sort one out.

the problem is though - colour! blue or black..... I'm thinking black, but just don't know!

ah the choices, mixed with excitement. brilliant

seen those messages about peoples' priorities..... the bike's gotta be above the lady.. I've just ordered sky this morning to keep mine happy. £40 a month - a small price to pay for peace and quiet

when are the meets- at this rate I could hopefully be at one next week

Conrad Poons 13-06-05 01:04 PM

Blue is bestest.

Meets every Friday at the moment!! Ad hoc ones at the weekend, but you only get invited if you have a p.c. at home.

Iansv 13-06-05 01:21 PM

Black, There are already loads of essex blues, we need some alternate colours at the meets

Conrad Poons 13-06-05 01:40 PM

You can't get more alternate than Candy Copper...

Dicky Ticker 13-06-05 03:16 PM

AS per

Candy copper isnt alternative its verging on unique not like the common blue and we do have a penny red and black[Pings]
or answer your phone

pljharvey 14-06-05 07:01 AM

yeah, thinking black, with the black frame..... will see though

I've sorted everything out, he's gonna call today and I've gotta give him a verdict! blue or black!?

anyone know of good place to get an alarm done.... this guy wants £300, and won't budge on it really (I'm buying a new bike off him for f**k sake!), but will prob get it done there if all else fails.

Conrad Poons 14-06-05 08:12 AM

Mac: I'd answer my phone if it rang...

Ping 14-06-05 08:46 AM

Erm.. I'm prob too late but Mac got in there for me anyway... ;)

BLACK

:D

pljharvey 14-06-05 12:31 PM

yeah, black looks well good.... but so does the blue.

think I prob will go for black though, as it looks good with the black frame.

still not heard back from john pease yet - thought they'd have called by now... might chase them up.

Conrad Poons 14-06-05 12:59 PM

I'm sure I'm not speaking out of turn for everyone on this site when I say...
Just switch your computer off and go and buy a fricking bike.

Warren 14-06-05 05:09 PM

you can get alarms alot cheaper than that
mine cost 300 quid - and im not sure its worth it.

as long as it goes off - its a good alarm in my books :)

pegasus 15-06-05 04:50 PM

jeez ..................word of advice dude..........dont pay for the alarm tell pease if you dont get an alarm fitted with the price of the bike you'll go to orwells....they fitt meta tv2's as standard inclusive of the price

top advice :)

pljharvey 19-06-05 10:54 AM

got it (well I pick it up tuesday)

black K4, lower fairing, pretty much standard apart from that.

getting a datatool sys 3 alarm put on it, and it's being serviced before it leaves the shop

Didn't bother with that skid-mark of a bloke at John Pease.

all in all, a result in my eyes.

wicked, as from the 22nd of this month, i am insured to ride any other bike . . . so if you need someone to test it out for you - to make sure it works and stuff . . .give me a bell :)

Ransom 20-06-05 06:05 AM

I went, in John Pease on Sat morning to see what sort of deal they could do on a GXR600 and the monkey salesman was trying to sell me a fazer! and trying to push all sorts of finnance at me even when i told him that i had 5k in my pocket... Mental

I just walked out and i'm pretty sure i'll never go back

KrZ 20-06-05 06:48 AM

choose colour wisely my friend... SV due to its v-twin engine is a pretty narrow bike, lighter colour will make it look a bit fatter, and black will make it looker smaller and even narrower. i went for blue because that's the happy medim i could get on K4 colour, and after i got mine, i realised its the faster colour as well..

Warren 20-06-05 09:21 AM

dont go to johns of romford

pljharvey 20-06-05 09:35 AM

the bike was dropped in sat morning - the guy p/x for a gsxr. they gave me a bell, so I went down to have a look

didn't ride it, but it's only 9months old, and was bought and serviced from there - Alpha in Leigh-on-sea, so I thought it's good enough.

they're doing the second service there as well before i get it tomorrow, so I'll just go with the fact that it's all good. if there are any faults (which apparently there aren't) then the mechanics will sort it all out.

with everything on it, I paid £3,900. I know that from pease I could've got a new bike, but it wouldn't have the lowers, alarm and bungs on it, thus I'd be looking at around 5k.... the sales guy there wouldn't give me anything... well, he did offer me £6 off of a chain/pad lock.

what a bell end.

anyways, it made my decision on the colour - blue/black, as it was black!

now I just wanna go and have a go on it!

pljharvey 20-06-05 09:41 AM

anyone know any nice and easy roads to get back to chelmsford (from leigh)

might go get me an A-Z so I can get back on quiet roads so I can get used to the bike before jumping on the A130 etc.

call me a weiner, but there we go!

Iansv 20-06-05 09:45 AM

Congrats on finally getting one

Halonic 20-06-05 10:00 AM

so be seeing you at battlesbridge this friday then?

pljharvey 20-06-05 10:21 AM

yeah, I guess I might pop down for a bit.

dunno what the plans are though, although I do wanna do something that doesn't involve getting drunk, thus driving would be a nice alternative

is there usually a good turnout?

pljharvey 22-06-05 07:12 AM
