Does your insurance know about your can ???
I've just got a 50 mile old high level dual port road-legal blueflame. Has everyone on here told their insurance company about AM cans and what was outcome ??? Just want to know before i cut old system in half if it'll up my insurance a load.

Nope

I told em and it made no difference to the premium but they wanted 'an administrative fee' to update their paperwork. I argued the toss and they gave up on the idea

Mine know my bike as intimately as I do... Since to me, anything less is basically inviting them to **** you if it gets nicked then recovered- "Well, your bike was a more desirable target for thieves as it had a performance can" etc.
|
nope!
|
i never bothered telling mine when i had a race can fitted. i guess no one can tell emt hey have a race can on as it means its no road legal.
i was tempted to tell em i had a laod legal after market one but didnt bother as the stock one costs more anyway. |

I'm on their Ikons policy through Royal Sun Alliance and CN said they don't mind at all providing it doesn't substantially add to the power of the bike. They didn't want any extra premium or admin fee. So maybe next time your renewal comes up ask them to check which policies they have that will accept non road legal cans. . |
yes i told them, it cost no more extra and i had written confirmation the next day.
my policy allows me to have an end can up to a value of £300 before any extra payments are required on the policy i'm with bennetts btw |

Thinking of gettin a can, asked insurance and as long as its road legal it makes no difference, even at my age! i'd have thought they would want to screw a few other pennies out of me.
