What Do You Fancy For Your Next Bike ?

If all goes to plan, what do you see yourself riding for your next bike. Assuming your current bike is still running ok and you have got enough money (or credit) to purchase a new or newer bike.

Please reply in the spirit of real-life likelyhood, rather than far fetched pipe dream. So don't assume you have won the lottery, you are the same person just a bit more riding experience.

I got my perfect bike at the start of this year - a raptor 1000 - and I will be keeping it forever because it's wonderful 8)

Scoobs 08-09-05 02:40 PM

Probably a sports 600, but not 100% sure. May go for a 1000cc twin. Current choices would be either a ZX6R B1H or SP1 (or 2).

Grinch 08-09-05 02:41 PM

I'd love a new speed triple...
Or a nice new Rockstar...
Maybe
I'd have a sv1000.. though as it more close to what I could afford.

but I'll still keep the SV

Noufy 08-09-05 02:42 PM

I fancy an MV Agusta F4 or a Hayabusa, but will most likely go for a 749S or a GSXR 600.

Skip 08-09-05 02:42 PM

Glad you put the "Not decided yet option" - will definitely be keeping the SV for at least another year - toying with the idea of a Z750/SV1000N after that and after that I would like a Z1000....

Loooong way off at the moment tho...!

Just noticed my choices, and yes I prefer naked machines! 8)

SVeeedy Gonzales 08-09-05 02:50 PM

Sports 600's very, very tempting... as would a 1000 (but too pricey to insure/buy for me)... but for the real world and for the money I have, it's most likely to be an SV1000... more power plus the V-twin feeling and not too bad to insure, etc.

fizzwheel 08-09-05 02:51 PM

Aprillia Millie, if its an old shape one an R, what i really what is new hspae factory though

TSM 08-09-05 02:57 PM

I dont want to lose the SV so walked away...

suzsv650 08-09-05 03:00 PM

R6

Ping 08-09-05 03:06 PM

Not decided yet... it's gotta look good AND I've gotta be able to reach the ground...

R6 or ninja probably

muddycoffee 08-09-05 03:07 PM

What's happened to my poll??

:x

Scoobs 08-09-05 03:09 PM

SUZSV650 R6'd it up!

diamond 08-09-05 03:15 PM

An R1 for me please, in black. =P~

Saint Matt 08-09-05 03:19 PM

R6 :notworthy:

Dad wants a pointy SV I think after his curvy. Aslong as it's a thou i can see the point, if not i'll belt him :P

sv4me 08-09-05 03:21 PM

Dont know for me :-k

Having had the ninja I now know you dont need anymore power than that on the road

Though the torque of a bigger motor makes riding so much easier. I still love the drive and noise from V twins and ive always had a soft spot for the Mille,so probably a 1000cc twin in a few years 8)

The Suzuki SV650S K5 in black...
Hang on...Dreams do come true.... :rave:

Carsick 08-09-05 03:24 PM

I'm still alittle undecided. I like the TLR alot, but I think it's a little dated now. The Falco is still appealing, but electrical problems and the fact that it's a little exotic could make it an expensive bike to run.
I've tried a Sprint ST. Very nice bike, comfortable, pretty quick, but it doesn't seem to grab me.
It doesn't help that I don't quite know what I want the bike to do. Job for next year isn't sorted yet, so don't know what my commute will be like. Don't know how far I'll be travelling to visit people and stuff like that.

jonboy 08-09-05 03:35 PM

SV1000 naked - black. Re-valve the forks, Ohlins rear shock, Suzuki belly pan, seat cowl, Renthals and twin lights. Sorted!

Oh and a larger rear sprocket, naturally  .

Friend of mine has a red TLR with twin carbon Scorpions on it, it has to be the best sounding bike I have ever heard! Looks like a bit of a whale though and he says it feels really big and cumbersome to ride, but did I mention the NOISE!  One day I may ask for a cheeky go and let you all know what I thought....

Grinch 08-09-05 03:43 PM

I'm yet to hear a nicer sounding bike. The only thing that's come close is a 916 with termis on.
The falco is calling to me a bit, will have to see if it gets a makeover in the time between now and when I can afford one.

Cronos 08-09-05 04:02 PM

Blackbird for me right now... but I am prone ot changing my mind.

As for my next bike...see this post right here...

Stig 08-09-05 04:53 PM

Well.........having taken Mrs Ape out on the bike for the second time, she is now pondering the thought of doing her CBT and getting a licence.

With this in mind she would obviously then need a motorcycle. Well it just so happens that I have a splendid SV that she could have for free. This would though, leave me short of a motorcycle myself.

Therefore I would have to buy another one. I most definitely want to go up in CC's but not in pots. I have thought about an SV thou for some time but I really don't like the shape, although the naked one looks by far better than the faired. I have also thought about the TL.

Cloggsy 08-09-05 05:45 PM

I've got my 950SM & I'm as 'appy as a pig in poop

muddycoffee 08-09-05 05:51 PM

well thankyou all for replying, some good answers.

I have only had my SV for about 10 weeks, and am far from a master of it. I bought it after reading lots of reviews and believing it an ideal bike to return to riding again. So far I am happy and enjoying the bike very much, but can see that after a year or two I would like more of a challenge, especially for some long distance trips, and maybe an SV1000s with an aftermarket more comfy seat would be good [ still with the V-twin feeling ] or a faser 1000.

It's funny how awesome and massive an SV650 would have looked to me when I was riding an CG125 in 1989. But after 10 weeks of owning one, it just seems to me like a nice little bike.
. . . or it did, until my neighbour's lad came around and showed me his 2 stroke 125 :) :D

SteveH 08-09-05 06:02 PM

Got mine  K5 Aprilia Tuono, well the 13th I will

northwind 08-09-05 06:07 PM

My next bike's most likely to be 2 bikes... And it won't be for at least a year or two barring the untimely death of the SV. And I predict it'll be:

Fazer thou or 636, and my SV, but nakedised and rendered impractical... Or
My SV left as it isfor daily use, and a proper 7/11.

If the SV bites it, then it'd almost certainly be an older Fazer thou and a nakedised TL1000S...

Red ones 08-09-05 06:26 PM

Can't be decided - only just replaced my red SVS with a red SVS. But always have had my eye on a 'busa!

wheelnut 08-09-05 06:27 PM

I probably need a wake up call, but I quite fancy an 800 monster.

anu problems with that?

bluebell 08-09-05 06:37 PM

BMW1200GS for me :D

El Saxo 08-09-05 06:48 PM

I really like the idea of a big naked bike next, like an MV Brutale or the Suzuki B-King.

But... then i saw the pics of the new R6 and the new Triumph 675 =P~

Robbo_ 08-09-05 06:58 PM

B-king looks mint :)

Steve W 08-09-05 07:03 PM

Toying with giving up the car all together so then I could have two bikes... problem then is do I go for one that's practical (Deauville, XJ900) to go with my present bike (head view) or for something more exciting (heart tug)?

In my previous incarnation as a biker I always wanted a Moto Morini and am now sorely tempted by their re-appearance or alternatively like the look of the Breva V1100... on the other hand there's the Speed Triple, Z1000... but I do like Honda build quality: Blackbird?

It's not difficult to work out how I answered the poll...

chunkytfg 08-09-05 07:17 PM

well my KS unfaired will be my race bike and i only last week got myself a RS250 for the road so i guess it will be a while before chez chunky see's another new bike but after haveing the K3 out on the ride for a couple of short test blasts i have to say i might well go for a K5 faired or maybe even a SV1000 providing i can find one cheap enough and the insurance company dont want to bend me over with the premiums
