Saw These on the Saffa site I visit. Both the riders are okay though

Speed they were doing...240kph = 150mph

Very very quick :!:

Am I missing something? I can't see any pics, just a load of Afrikaans twaddle. Is there a link to some pics or something?

Wow.

From site:
Bike SA Forum discontinued for the usual reasons where some idiots write idiotic things and spoil it for the rest. I do not suffer idiots (or rapists, murderers and worse - bike thieves) gladly, especially not when they write defamatory things about others and I get lawyers' letters and have to spend three years of my time, which is already so little that I cannot even read my own forum, defending legal actions. Apologies to the many good guys out there, but I cannot monitor every word of this forum. It has been so successful that it will take four or five hours a day to monitor it, and several defamatory things could still creep in, with lawyers letters and lots of time wasted to follow. Those who do not appreciate the implications of all this and will write nasty letters, and threaten to never buy Bike SA again and worse, you are probably the type who caused the closure. A glimmer of hope - maybe someone out there has suggestions on what else can be done with a site to which any idiot has unfettered access and can write anything he likes and I have to take all the responsibility, legal, moral, financial, keeping out of dark alleys and otherwise. Please advise. We are resurrecting the site for a day or so for advice.

All idiots please stay away.

Yep...saw that after my post.
Pity though..it was a bloody good site but was sorely in need of the type and standard of moderation we have on this site. :( Hopefully something will get sorted out soon

He is the editor(I think?) of the magazine that hosts the forum. I'm not aware of any major saga's happening on the forum but I do know that it is more active during the day than at night, when I'm generally on it...but that may have something to do with the two hour time difference as well :?

As the publisher of the site, he is responsible for anything posted. At least he would be under English law, I assume it's the same in South Africa.

Really? I did not know that.

So, does that mean, if sv650.orgMember says the Cumbria branch of MrMagoo's Suzuki shop did a rubbish job on his bike, and ripped him off, and left it hanging, SV650.org's publisher can be charged with Libel?

Say if the guy just made up this stuff, say it was untrue, sv650.org publisher is liable at this point? What happens to the guy who made the libelous statement? MrMagoo gets two settlements? It seems a bit mad. What stops them litigating against the ISP, or the manufacturers of the server on which the site runs?

Why could they have some disclaimer saying all opinions are not those of the publisher etc.? Like they do on the bottom of those annoying emails.

People write scandalous stuff on forums all the time. How come the lawyers arent roaming message boards in packs looking for this kind of thing?
