new government legislation
seems that blair is trying to introduce a new bill which means he can create new laws without any approval from parliament as long as they don't carry a prison sentence of more than 2 years..
we are well on the way to a totalitarian state  http://www.spy.org.uk/spyblog/2006/0...atory_ref.html |
well, at least i have the satisfaction of knowing i never voted the ****** into power!

I did'nt either but I have no illusions about the other side. They are all power hungry despots and would behave in just the same way given the chance.

First new law he intends to enact under this new legislation is a mandatory 18month prison sentence for all persons who have voted Tory at least once in the past 20 years.
That way he ensures the guy next door will get voted in with a landslide majority at the next election, and his first task in the new job will be to kick his mate Tony into the lords . Not. |

What these numpties seem to have forgotten is that they came into power simply because Joe Public voted the other lot out, the Tories having become complacent, arrogant, and in several instances corrupt (Archer, Hamilton, et al).
Mr.Blair and his regime has simply repeated this "power corrupts etc" process http://labour-watch.com/sleaze.htm and they will suffer the same judgement by the electorate (if we all wake up!). Erosion of civil liberties is their latest dogma, and there's only so far you can push people. A leading labour politician was speaking the other day on radio4, and came out with the classic line "We are here to run the country". Sorry mate, you are not there to "run" the country, we do that. Just hope they are shifted by election rather than revolution, 'cos it's heading that way. Well that's me locked up then  |
Yeah, they all seem to conveniently forget, once voted in, that they are there to represent the views of US, their constituents, and if it were not for us they wouldn't even have a job in the first place.
I'm not politically motivated in any way, nor do I have any allegiance to any political party. They're all as bad as each other. Having said that, I do hope Labour don't get in again. I object to being told what I can and can't do, and if what I want doesn't fit in with what some spotty little oik who has no life thinks then tough s**t. I gave up smoking cigarettes 10 weeks ago but still enjoy a cigar when I go out for a beer. Now I won't even be able to do that. And it ****es me off.  |

The Govt is the Govt regarless of what banner they come in under. The only true exception to this would have been Screaming Lord Such of the Monster Raving Loony Party.... but he's dead now. Bloody shame cos he may just have won the next one with a landslide. Seems that half the country ignores politics entirely and the other half just believe the spin that each party puts out there. What i'd like to see is ANY party that gets in MUST stick to its manifesto and if it does not fulfill itys promises it gets kicked out. Simple really, do what you promised those who voted you in you would do...or get out!! But that'll never happen cos that far to close to true democracy, for this country to want to embrace :( |

Me neither...saying that ive not voted in the last 18 years anyway...find them all corrupt as one another
Perhaps i shouldn't bitch n moan about the country cos ive never voted  |
Good question---Who DID vote for these muppets?I have to admit to voting for them in previous elections, but I would not vote for Blair ever again after the Iraq war.I also have never and would never vote Tory.So that leaves the Lib Dems, and I don't like their policy on Europe.Greens want to ban bikes(and everything else that's fun)and most of the other options seem to be sectionable loonies. That's why I want PR.That way none of them would ever get a working majority and maybe they would leave us all alone to get on with our lives.

1st past the post
If only 30 % of those who bother to vote at all is all it takes to take everything then little wonder we have what we have....
Poly Ticks aside - role on the summer, enjoy it before they make it ilegal.. |
I didn't vote for them or any of the others, they're all a bunch of lying two faced gits that you only ever see near election time..................now if one of them said they would make race cans & small plates legal..........
